Lan Tarani in Arabic means ‘you can’t see me’, but in Urdu (like Iqbal’s following shair) this meaning doesn’t come out:
Zara Sa To Dil Hun Magar Shaukh Itna
Wohi Lan-Tarani Suna Chahta Hun
La’an Tarani seems like kisi ke be-izzati (laanat o malaamt) hote huwe dekhna

what muqawwee123 said.
plus, i doubt “taraani” can be joined directly with “La’n” in arabic, some arabic linguistics might help…

***Lan-Taraani ***is an Arabic sentence meaning “You Won’t Be Able To See Me” , i.e. Allah Almighty’s reply to Hazrat Musa or Moses (AS) on his demand to see HIM.
Allama Iqbal’s couplet if read from Spiritual or ***Ishq-e-Haqeeqi ***point of view, points to the same wish of seeing, visualizing or understanding Allah Almighty, with the same expected answer of Lan-Taraani.
The same couplet from worldly or ***Ishq-e-Majazi ***point of view, points to the usual flamboyance of a beloved, not ready to reveal herself and the same expected reply of Lan-Taraani.
***La’n-Taraani ***is a compound Persian word composed of La’an from La’anat and Taraan from Taraana , meaning a “Rhetoric Full Of La’anat Or Redicule” .
