so ive started exercising after realising ive been growing my ass sitting at home =(
anyhows… i weighed myself and i had a bloody heart atack… please please pleasee tell me its muscle weight coz ive only beein doin it for 4 days now
ive been doing a minimum of 10 minutes on my cross trainer, then 1.1kg’s weights (lol pathetic i knw) and im boxing too for about 10 minutes minimum. Also do skipping and crunches and what not approx about half an hour a day
This lama needs to lose those few kilos before eid! Am i doin sumthin wrong?? coz ive reduced my food intake sllightly.
my aims to get to 50 kilos, im 60 ryt now! even if i dont get to 50 by eid i dont mind as long as im like atleast 55ish by then… is that realistic??
ummm about 5 minutes... i cant seem to go any longer coz i skip quite fast. I read some girl lost like a gazillion kilos by doing 2000 skips a day, im dying after 100 but manage to keep going to about 3-400
not every one can skip for a long time, it gets boring. If you build stronger muscle and pay attention to some thing else..like music or TV... its gets easier.
If you punch on a bag, that is the best upper body work out... you work on your strength and agility at same time...
yeah PM thats what im doin, punching on a bag. I dont mind skipping and my whole exercise regime depends on my choice of music lol. I have to have it on otherwise i cant exercise for long.
lady lama...it's great that you are exercising and to answer your question....YES muscle mass does add pounds. however keep in mind exercise will not help you lose weight if you are not careful about the foods you are consuming. If you want to lose weight, your output should be greater then your input..meaning you need to burn more calories then you consume. Monitor your caloric intake for a week or two to see if that is causing your weight gain.
Also, it looks as if you are not working out enough. You say that you are doing a minimum of 10 minz of cardio...you need to set a goal to do minimum of 30. Increase your weights slowly. If it isnt challenging enough for you then you are not lifting the right amount.
and as for the skipping, my legs dont hurt i just end up out of breath.. i guess i jus gta build on my stamina
absolutely! you do. A good way to do that is by setting a goal for yourself and then push yourself to go beyond that goal. When you feel that you are out of breath before you have reached that goal..take a very short break and then keep going.
^ okay ill try tht tip today... but while im on the punching bag im also jumping up and down side to side and i feel like tht in itself is like a cardio work out coz im keepin my heart rate up whilst im punching away. Im tryna build my stamina so later i can go running aswell coz when i was doing tht last year i saw dramatic weight loss, Hopefully im tryna just get back into a routine which will shed my pounds =( thanks tho and will deffo start changin eating habits again lol!

Punching it self is intense enough. By adding any thing into it you are going to compromise quality of your punching. So NO unnecessary jumping.

I assume you wear a good pair of boxing gloves? Cuz if your hand hurts when you punch you are not going to punch with force.
yup good quality boxing gloves :@: i thought tht punching too hard myt make me look manly overtime... i dont wna tonk up just define my arms so i jump and punch lightly, but with enuf force tht i can feel im gettin a work out and enuf to keep my heart racing. is it okay to keep on jumping while i punch? lol

Lady lama...I agree with PM ...when punching there is no need to do jumping. concentrate on your punches with full force.

genetically we can not look manly unless there are some illnesses contributing to it or you are taking steriods. If this is not the case dont worry about it...you can nvr look manly.
punching alone will increase your heart rate and you will burn calories doing so. save the jumping for the jump ropes.
