New Delhi, August 9: A track-II delegation of members of Parliament, including from the BJP, and journalists today left for Pakistan on a three-day visit carrying a message of peace and brotherhood.
Laloo Yadav… the “defacto” CLOWN Chief Minister of lawless Indian state of Bihar is heading a group of Indian delegates currently on a visit to Pakistan…it is interesting to note that he is already making headlines in the Pakistani news media …(e.g. http://www.dawn.com/2003/08/10/top5.htm)
For the benefit of my Pakistani friends here.. let me give some more details about the man… Laloo Yadav symbolizes the dark and rustic side of Indian democracy… the kind of people who become leaders when the electorate is vastly illiterate and votes on caste lines like in Bihar… he has been charged in several corruption cases… has been incarcerated a few times… he made his illiterate wife (who probably spent all her married life in the kitchen tending to their 11 children) the “Official” Chief Minister of Bihar while Laloo continues to rule by proxy. Mouthing gibberish claptrap comes naturally to Laloo but surprisingly that is his USP among the rural uneducated masses of Bihar…
Bihar, meanwhile, is heading backwards into medieval ages while the rest of the country (atleast the south and the west) is on the road to economic prosperity. In many ways, Bihar resembles Afghanistan with warlords controlling different parts of the state… kidnapping, murder etc. is an every day phenomenon…
that such a nincompoop asshole should be on a peace mission to Pakistan is nauseating… I hope the Pakistan media takes his words for what it is worth… a pinch of salt…
Re: Laloo visiting Pakistan : Now that’s interesting…

Spocky...my friend... Laloo will feel perfectly at home in Pakistan... I hear there are plenty of clown politicians on your side of the border too...come to think of it , it may have been a good idea to send Laloo to Pakistan...morons tend to communicate well with other morons you know...
Whatever the buffonery is, there is obviously something people like about him. His "paan is too expensive" episode may be simplistic to us the educated literati elite but I'm sure that explained economics of border trade better to a lot of people. Assuming there's no underhand shenanigans imminent, I am getting to grow some respect for Laloo with Aloo

Pak I&B minister looks like Saddam: Laloo
ANI MONDAY, AUGUST 11, 2003 11:14:59 AM ]
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed looks like Saddam Hussein as his features are very much similar to the deposed Iraqi leader, suggested visiting Indian parliamentarian Laloo Prasad Yadav.
Pointing to a poster that he saw of the minister he commented, “Your features, height and moustache are just like that of Saddam Hussein and you are really a Pakistani Saddam Hussein,” a daily quoted Laloo as telling Ahmed in his inimitable rustic style.
“Laloo Ji you will get me killed,” Ahmed jocularly remarked.
The popular leader from Bihar is visiting Pakistan as part of a 60-member Indian delegation of politicians, intellectuals and journalists, and has so far been the star attraction.
Yadav had paid a surprise visit to the famous Lal Haveli to see the minister on Sunday evening. Ahmed, who was working out in a gym, cut it short to meet the Bihari leader.
The two leaders warmly hugged each other and exchanged pleasantries in the presence of hundreds of people.
ISLAMABAD: Talking about Indo-Pak ties and cultures of the two countries, RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav hogged the limelight here as he and some other members of the delegation went out to explore the markets of Islamabad on Sunday.
People from all age groups, particularly children, vied with each other to have a glimpse of the Indian leaders as Laloo charmed the crowds with his inimitable style. Doing a little bit of shopping, the leader from Bihar was even presented gifts by shopkeepers.
‘‘We have all heard about you,’’ said a cloth merchant while he gifted a piece of Pakistani fabric to Laloo.
