they cannot expect to have ZERO collateral damage. they should aim for minimal damage but not ZERO damage. that is literally impossible. Time to get stronger where the firing is done from, and if we experience some collateral, so be it... wrap it up tonight. ..

For those who don’t know, Melody market is near by (adjacent pretty much) and in there is Holiday Inn and Islamabad’s food street (both are always PACKED during the summer). And not far down the road, there is Blue Area, which is the financial sector of the capital. So in short, these goons have been effin around in a very important part of the city and it is imminent that this situation is dealt with promptly. Honestly, these terrorists deserve no sympathy. I wish that the Special forces just raid the building and hope to god that there not many innocent kids and women die. But one thing is for sure, those terrorists inside are not just going to hand them over as they are looking to spoil the government’s image.

Musharraf is risking losing support for this operation.. had they been more aggressive earlier, people would have eben understanding of hte collateral losses -- now too many conspiracy theories are beginning to take strength

Bhai we can't accept it as collteral damage until they threaten to execute people then there is a seriousness and need to act in a timely fashion. If they are not killing people inside the masjid (which we have no such reports yet) then we better not go in and accelerate such a thing. Patience bro patience.

Im starting to think the best way to end this is to let Ghazi come out, arrest and investigate the students, and let the Ghazi and his brother stay in house arrest on the Masjid grounds.. And offcourse, dont let it be used as a madrassa for the next year or two...

i think they are willign to do it in two ways:
(i) indiscriminate attack so that army/ssg dont have to take any casualties
(ii) be extremely slow and not take any own casualties
from that standpoint, you are right, because they are being cowardly in terms of applying a third route:
(iii)minimize own losses, but advance anyway, which means taking more risks and takign casualties
