According to Aaj Tv those who are left in side are locked in 2 big rooms & are being prevented from coming out of the masjid. Just shows you what kind of Islam these people belive in.

To say that these brainless gits were govt agents is carrying things too far. All these two bit malvis who keep getting "Basharats" from above, or so they claim are nothing but jahil exploiters. It is a shame that they brain washed so many youngsters there and when time came they ran like rats. Unfortunately it is guys like these that claim to represent Islam, in actual fact they are a disgrace to Islam, Pakistan and human kind and they are in a lot of masjids in Pakistan doing there dirty deed there. True. That's why I supported President Musharraf's 'sitback and think carefully' approach while everyone else was calling him a coward for not attacking a Holy site.
I guess they want the President to have blood on his hands just to make him a hated figure nationally and internationally.

Full-fledged commando operation launched at lal mosque
ISLAMABAD: A full-fledged commando operation has been launched at Lal mosque, the sources said.
Intense cross firing between the Law Enforcing agencies and students of Lal mosque has been started and the explosions have rocked the Islamabad.
The commandoes and the Rangers have also taken control of the office of Environment ministry beside the Lal mosque.
Meanwhile, Chairing a high level meeting, president General Pervez Musharraf has directed the Law Enforcing authorities involved in Lal mosque operation to display maximum restraint to ensure safe evacuation of the maximum students from Jamia Hafsa.
Earlier, after passing of the deadline given to the Lal Masjid administration for surrender, security forces had cordoned off the mosque complex in Islamabad.
The parents of female students in Lal Masjid, have appealed he president to further extend the deadline. They said their girls have nothing to do with the stand of Lal Masjid administration and they were enrolled in the seminary to get education.
The administration had given 12:30 deadline to the students entrenched in the mosque. They were advised to leave the mosque immediately otherwise they would themselves be responsible for any harm.
The ministry of interior had announced curfew break from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm in Sector-6 of Islamabad, however the break has not been applied to the area around the Lal Masjid.
Stringent security measures were taken around the mosque with large number of security men in the area.
According to the officials over 1000 male students and 400 girls of Madrassah have surrendered before the authorities.
In another development, Maulana Abdul Aziz’s wife Umme Hassan talking to Geo News denied reports of her arrest and said she was present in the mosque.

Bullet broof vest don't protect against Ak-47s fired at short ranges. At best the force of the impact would knock the wearer over - but most likely, the vest would only slow down the bullet and therefore allow it to spend more time travelling through the body inflicting damage.
The government is definately taking the right kind of slow, measured approach to the situation. The militants inside want a rash government action that will allow them to go down in a blaze of glory - but the goverment is playing a slower, psychological game that has proven success in getting people out of there without additional violence.
