I disagree with your view, though I agree that there is good size of population who do not want to 'Islamise' country.
Well, I do not think interpretation of Islam by MMA (as what they propagate), Taliban, or people of Lal building is really Islam, or there implementation could make Pakistan an Islamic country.
An important aspect of Islam is ‘Religion (Islam) is by choice and not by force’, Prophet (SAW) never forced anyone into Islam (or even forced any Muslim to follow Islam) nor it ever happened during any period of Islamic history (that people, even Muslims were forced into following Islam). It is obvious, as if anyone would be forced into any practice (even praying), they would not be doing that for Allah but for those who are forcing them (even if that force is state). And Allah could not accept such worship that is not done voluntarily.
If anyone follows Islam than according to Quran, they would be doing that for their own good and if not, they would be responsible for that (after death in front of Allah). State job is to fight fitna (or forces that want to force others) and make following Islam easy (without fear of persecution and hindrance). These political parties, Taliban and people of Lal building are problem themselves as they are people an Islamic state should fight and save nationals (including Muslims) from them and their fitna.
Ideally, people who want to promote Islam, they should do that peacefully and preach Islam to others with their own actions and make people adopt Islamic practices voluntarily.
I am sure mullahs must have been hypothesizing (is it a word?? :D) a law 'by secular government' when no women will be allowed to wear a burqa.
Allah has created face for recognition as without recognition of each other, nothing can be safe, not even home. Thus it is not only non-Islamic but it can only create fitna. That is why Allah disallows covering face while doing Hajj. Obviously, to keep a country secure, there should be law that no one should come in public with their face covered (other wise terrorist, thieves, thugs, and criminals of all nature, including wanted criminals, could cover their face and move freely in country without fear of getting recognized or getting arrested).
I do hope that people realize what retards MMA are, but then again the other options people have are also retards (MQM, PML, PPP, army).
Whatever other political parties do, they do not force others to follow something against their will. Their victims are mostly political victims and options to save oneself form their fitna is there. But these retards effects religious beliefs and way of lives of others, and make each and every citizen who does not agree with their interpretation of Islam, their victim. So, one cannot compare them retards with any political party hooligans.

Abdul Rashid has decided to take a stand and is refusing to relinquish control of the mosque. He's suggesting that he and his folks would lay down the arms, but NOT vacate or give control of the mosque to the govt. (of course until he manages to buy more hostages and start the whole thing again). He's also refusing to let go 60 orphan children govt wanted to get out of the madrassah.

this report is inaccurate. he's not surrendering per say, but is only offering to vacate the children library and returning weapons to ulema, but is not agreeing on vacating the premises or getting arrested. Which means he'll stay in with his terrorist protectors, with some hidden weapons, and wait for a good time to take some additional hostages....
i say they ahve been given more than more than more than enough chances. Abdul Aziz has been explosed. It's okay to take casualties now!

thats what these people are...holding children hostage...using them as shields, people like them have used this tactic all the time, and if there is an atatck teh hue and cry would be that they were innocent ppl and not militants..and bodies of children shown as proof.
