I'm glad to hear the standoff is over. I'm glad to see that the army has finally used force against these retards. I hope the government and the army take more steps like these. There are still hundreds of other radical mosques around Pakistan which need to be dealt with. I hope the government doesn't sit back now and let these retards reassemble.

Consisted of: Anti tank mines Blow up leg mines
Mortar launchers Mortar rounds
RPG - Russian/Chinese variety RPG-7 I think RPG-7 rounds, all with motors ready for use
Grenade launchers Grenade rounds for ^ Some unknown rocket launcher, or maybe anti tank grenade launcher. Big supply of pineapple grenades Plenty of armour piercing grenades Small, easy to conceal grenades
Massive supply of AK-47 rifles, maybe some Chinese in their. 3-5 air rifles, looked like .22 probably Locally made spas 12 clones RPD light machine guns RPK-74 Dragunov sniper rifles SKS rifles -- maybe M14 clones, couldn't get a good look from pictures. MASSIVE suply of ammunition still left. Mountains of rounds.
Plenty of pistols, most looked like locally made replicas.

I have been thinking about it. Seeing hos this Madrassah was fortified, it would have been safer for OBL and Zawahri to hide in one of these forts in an urban Pakistani city instead of some border area where everybody expected him to be. In fact, I was hoping that Big*******#2 Al Zawahiri was found in Lal Masjid, but that didn't happen :(
yah but the speed at which zawahiri's message came after fughazi#2 was killed really makes one wonder how tight these ppl were. the good thign is that only one of these brothers was needed alive to find out what all stuff they were up to. his chitrol may give the govt useful info, and I suppose terrorist networks in Pakistan are scrambling right now in fears that fughazi1 will tell all about what he knws.

Yaar just to throw around another conspiracy theory. If this masjid had late Zia's support, could it be possible he used it as a weapons cache for supplying the Jihadis participating in Afghanistan or divert some of the supplies here and elsewhere and let some go on to their intended audience.

.. the biggest jerk is the Musharraf government (and its assorted ministers etc) who masterminded and prolonged the issue to *distract public *(I am not going into the reasons why they would do that).
A school that housed and served (dubiously it may be) hundreds of children (including many orphans) is lost. A masjid is completely desecrated and destroyed and the name of our country is again dragged into the international media for a terrorist-related/unfavorable situation. ** I am sure Musharraf will beat his chest and portray himself as the last ray of hope to protect Pakistan** from rabid Mullahs and our armed forces/rangers did everything they were asked to do... but honestly, this situation has no winners. With hundreds upon hundreds of people dead, any one who even remotely thinks that anyone has come out in a favorable light after this 'show of force' by the government is just fooling themselves.

My question to all you folks who have been following this saga day in and day out, scarificing your sleep and social activities and all, is, what happened to the reportedly 100s of those children and women that were supposeldy held hostage inside the compound, ive heard and read much about the op that was carried out but missred reading on the fate of those 100s of children and women. Where did they all disappear? How many were rescued and who many did our SSG kill? And how many, if any, were secretly buried?

I could believe that if it was an unwarranted immediate and swift attack where they needed to come up with a reason quick and fast or cover up for some flawed intelligence, like there was supposed to be a huge weapons cash yet there wasn't and to cover up they created their own.

If you really had been following this saga day in and day out you would not be blind as a bat to the 1200+ people that came out of the masjid after the siege. All the information about inside the compound was coming from inside the compound. If the source of information was flawed and dishonest don't be blaming the messengers.
