Army generals look at people under them like their own children. President Musharraf was general of SSG and Lt Col Haroon Islam was from SSG too. After the shahadah of Lt Col Haroon, there was no hope for these freaks as I had this gut feeling that Musharraf would never forgive them cracks. Well, same day Musharraf told in public that they either surrender or would be killed. This freak only had chance if he would have surrendered.
Operation is done by SSG and obviously they would be thinking about Lt Col. when dealing with him. So, if he got killed, there should be no surprise. I think that if he get arrested it would be a surprise (as many in SSG must be feeling hate for him). If he was arrested or would have surrendered, he still has many supports in the government that would have made long punishment for him almost impossible.

Geo says he was shot in the leg and when asked to surrender refused. And then faced bullets. Not sure what level of resistance he showed towards the ultimate end...
