Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

After the Lal Masjid farce, I hope the government wakes up now and takes decisive action against ALL madrassahs and organisations formed in the name of Islam. Inaction and ignoring this problem that has been festering for so long (thanks to Zia's wrong policies) is no longer an option. All the administration of madrassahs should be changed and controlled. Otherwise after a few years these illiterate, narrow-minded and backward-thinking mullahs will create more problems for Pakistan.

*Also Zia's idiotic son Ijaz-ul-Haq should be removed as religious affairs minister *

Agree with Ehsan bhai
Maulana Aziz (what a pathetic joker trying to flee away in a burqa) and Ghazi are criminals, murderers and thugs and should be treated as such. These lunatics make a mockery of noble words like jehad and shahadat. Pakistanis need to wage jehad against such brain-washed mullahs and their fanatical followers

Agree with Fraudia
Regardless of who created sipah e sahaba, sipah e muhammad, lashkar e jhangvi, tehreek e jafria or assorted other moronic organizations....they were/are a militant scourge responsible for killing many innocent folks. and groups like that need to be dismantled....and members brought to justice. Rabid mullahs simply can not be allowed to run berserk like that.

I am also losing patience with Imran Khan. Yes his stand against Altaf deserves praise and it deservedly won him many plaudits but he should also realise that critising someone (Mush) for the sake of critising is just dirty politics. He should get off this Mush-bashing bandwagon and acknowledge the fact that Mush has done a few good things for Pakistan as well. Yes Mush was wrong to allow May 12 mayhem and to send reference against CJ but this military action was the only option left for the government. Afterall they had been talking with these jokers (Maulana Aziz and Ghazi) for 6 months.

The loss of lives is regrettable but this farce had to end.

That said I have the greatest respect for true Islamic Scholars like Yusuf Estes

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

I can never disagree with you!

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

Gen Waheed Arshad is quite impressive, has that pakka fauji and commander look, voice and bearing, Gens Shaukat Sultan and Rashid Qureshi lacked that a bit.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

I dont need to listen to Geo or Aaj or any other channel to form my opinions. My opinions are based on experience, of living in Pakistan and outside, of living under the rules of other military governments and civil governments, of being able to visit the remotest areas of Pakistan, all over Pakistan, and talking to people there.

Your statement that any civil government would have solved it in time is without merit. When the whole thing was going on I had said that if action is taken now people will say Army is trigger happy, if action is taken later, people will say they waited too long. Six months down the road, what I said has come true.

I think the government took the right steps. We are not aware of everything that may be going on between the government, other political leadership and Lal Masjid administration.

Unfortunately nobody will ever know the truth. Facts will be presented after the action is complete but will everyone believe these facts? It is a Pakistani tradition to call it facbricated if facts do not jive with one's political bias.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

props for the brave men in pak forces for doing such a difficult job. Its the most sophisticated thing to dismental a building full of terrorist with hostages while trying to keep the body count low.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

We saw the irresponsible and unprofessional coverage of the events last night by GEO, AAJ and other pakistani media outets; their opinions are inaccurate and sensationalist at best. They have no credibility.

After 9/11 these mullahtic loonies would've made moves toward Sharia governed Pakistan without Army rule. Lets get real here and not assign all world's ills to the Army rule in Pakistan.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

And PTV has all the credibility!! and so are the staements of Govt!!!

The two ministers i mentioned admitted that their deals were not sanctioned by the upper authorities..

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

Yaar! I was thinking the same thing!

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

You always put it so well ashtray! :k:

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

You are dodging your initial claim and support of the GEO's statements that

Guess what, GEO and you are wrong on both counts. You can counter my arguement by dragging all Pakistani media, ministers (who were part of civilian rule and would've done same dumb things they independently thought would break the stand-off) and wouldn't change the ground realities.

Your forgot Radio Pakistan.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

Please add MQM and all MMA parties in there as well

Agreed 100%

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

There are reports of Shahadat of one Captain Salman Lodhi from Zarrar Coy SSG. Any details on him yet...?

There were also reports of one Maj Khokhar's Shahadat but not confirmed...

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

and the ground reality is that the general was fully pissed with his popularity in shiit.. therefore this drama was evolved.. and unfortunately so many had to die..

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

So whats they update? r they finished yet? Fact that they are resisting SSG from last 12 hours tell a lot about "students" that how trained they are and how good they are in using the arms.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

This just didn't make any sense. American English please.

Only group responsible for this drama are the mullahtic loonie who took women and children hostage.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

Does this also tell us as to how really good the SSG really are? What if they were up against a well trained foreign army? Is SSG really capable of handling such situations without minimal loss?

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

Aren't they?

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread (merged)

big difference, SSG will use all its weaponry against a well trained army, but they are being extremely careful with these idiots. to save the lives of kids and woman.
