well, the thing is, his balls are strangled in two places now, if he works against one party his one ball will be squashed .... so he is about to lose atleast one of them now.

This situation has gotten way too much publicity now -- both domestically and abroad. The mullahtic loonie calling AAJ and reciting his dukh bhair daastaan was a mistake too. This could've been a PR nightmare for the govt. had the military operation had gone awry.
I guess they have reached a best possible outcome to fight another day.
I guess the families of people who were hostages are probably pleased. and I am happy for them that their loved ones will be safe and not be shields for some mullah.
I am saddened that this is setting the wrong precedence. I had really hoped that after this much time our military would have figured out some way to get the hostages out safe
I hope that the statements of our politicians, especially the MMA types have opened people's eyes to how messed up their ideology is and how
I hope that through this action, these brothers are contained and the set up of this institute is changed.
I was horrified to hear about the armed mob of thousands in tribal areas vowing for revenge.. that also tells you what those people are and where their loyalties lie.
I dont know what my views on this are... as happy as I am that the hostages will be safe I do think that the precedence has been set that more people will become hostages and pawns later in other places.
so we saved these few hundred folks..but have made every single Pakistani..(minus the rabid beardos, and the infleuential) to be potential future hostages.

This kind of rhetoric is getting out of hands. Do you know how things ended for Sikhs in India after Golden Temple and their retaliation? You want cycles of revenge destroying property and lives in the country for decades?
These miscreants should be DENIED any opportunity to create folklore. GOP should use the pictures of burqua clad escapee as their mascot for all thier campaigns against these loonies. Shame them. If they comply, educate them. But pretty please with sugar on top, don't make them heroes.
That's not the point. This reality is this:
A pair of mullahs created havoc and challanged writ of state in the nations capital. After a week of drama, the Govt dared not conduct an operation against them. These 2 parties should not even negotiate, one is (apparently) a government of a (apparently) soveriegn state, the other a stupid mosque with some guns and a few hostages. For these few, the credibility of the entire state apparatus has been surrendered.
Its not about being a quittet C1, I have seen now how the govt of Pakistan is so linked to these terrorists as to be one and the same. I suggest intl military action against this epicentre of extremism be carried out to save us all, cos we have seen that Pakistan cannot or will not handle its own Islamist problem.

He probably is getting (ill) advised from Chodhri brotheren and other idiots like them, as you now know that even military has sympathisers of Lal Masjid-like folks, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Musharraf to carry out an operation of nature of your liking. If at all, he could've done something along those line in very early phase when there wasn't as much media focus/internationall attention, now with each passing minute everyone is looking at the issue with microscopes.

Sometimes outside perspectives, though may be under-informed can be startling. Finland has temporarily closed its embassy in Pakistan. According to the Finnish Foreign Ministry, the embassy has been closed because of the deteriorating security situation in the Pakistani capital.
The Finnish Embassy is located in the Pakistani capital Islamabad close to the compound of the Red Mosque which is being held by Islamist militants in defiance of government orders to surrender.
According to Finland’s Ambasador, Irmeli Mustonen, there are very few Finnish nationals in Pakistan and the Embassy does not beleive that those who are there are in any danger.
Holes have been blown in outer walls of the compound housing Islamabad’s Red Mosque, where the government says 200 to 500 followers of a rebel cleric’s Taliban-style movement are resisting the military. Pakistani government and military officials say there are 50 to 60 hard-core militants, some from groups linked to al Qaeda, leading the fighting, but most of the others are women and children.
There are fears that the siege could end in a bloodbath.

My personal opinion but I think it was a mistake to create Pakistan.
The combined muslim populations of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh would have been 500 million, so much so to offset any negative hostility we would have gotten from the hindu majorities.
And thus the tribal areas retards would have been India's problems
