You can't compare it with the Baloch and NWFP situations. Those guys are even more crazy and cause even more problems. The other day on the news it was announced that one of these groups beheaded a undercover agent.

I am back at work after 6 days and haven't had a chance to keep up with teh proceedings.... are the negotiations in progress,, what are the indications (i spent every minute of all these 6 days following this pathetic episode, i feel so stupid for having wasted all my time on it)

Negotiations are being made to protect the innocent hostages, this is the right approach, we cannot forget the tremendous risk to their lives.
Personally, I wud like to see these fundos fry, but this may not be the right time and place thanks to their hostage crises.

Musharaf is not a politician. I'm surprised he has given so much time for negotiations. He should go the route he understands i.e. barge in the mosque and deal with the consequences later.

hi folks, newbie here. you guys have done a great job. if only only other pakistanis were samajhdaar like the people here, pakistan would be a developed country right now.
i would really like to see jehadis in the mosque taken out no matter what the cost. fundos have been destroying the lives of people for generations. few innocent lives would be the cost worth paying if message gets across to the mullahs that their game is over. battle with the jehadis had to be fought and this is a good time as any. running away from this battle wont solve anything other than postponing the day of reckoning. given the opportunity, these guys will create a bigger problem later. sadly i think the result of this stand off will be that ghazi will be allowed to go scott free. govt, i think realises that awam has no stomach for a fight and that large segment of the awam might even support these mofos.
