Its hard to believe that these people are still allowed to roam around freely & the lal masjid is still standing. They should’ve flatten & built parking lot there. This is joke to say the least. Now its turning out that lal masjidi terrorists may have link in killing of brigadier in Islamabad few days back.

**ISLAMABAD: It seems that the Lal Masjid saga is not over yet as investigators probing the recent terrorist attacks in Islamabad suspect the involvement of Ghazi Force (GF), a small but lethal militant group named after Ghazi Abdul Rashid, the deputy imam of the Lal Masjid who died in the July 2007 crackdown, Dawn News learnt reliably here on Saturday.**

The sources said that Niaz Raheem alias Bilal, the amir of GF, is said to be a prime suspect in terror activities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The sources said that the name of Niaz Raheem first crept up in May 2009, when law enforcement agencies arrested Fidaullah, the founder of the GF, after getting some leads from Khairullah and Khurram Shahzad, who were arrested in the case of Frontier Constabulary and Special Branch suicide attacks in Islamabad early this year.
The sources said that though Fidaullah was the founder amir of the GF, it is Niaz Raheem who is leading the force.
They said that Muhammad Hanif of Kacha Malana, District Dera Ismail Khan, Muhammad Kamran of Gali Bagh Ibrahim Khel resident of Saeedabad Pujgi, GPO Road, Peshawar, Dildar Khan a resident of Reggy Shenu , district Kohat , Bashir Ahmed a resident of village Nari Baja Bughdada, Mardan, Arslan Irshad, a resident of Defense Sector Karachi Shargi-D, Farhan Saqib Abbasi of sector G-6/2 are said to be some active members of the GF.
The sources add that besides these important members of the GF, 43 others are at large and they all are wanted in different terror cases.
The sources said that Fidaullah had established his network in Guljo area of Hangu and he had also been accused of taking youngsters from Islamabad to turn them into suicide bombers.
But the arrest of Fidaullah and a successful military operation in Swat forced the group to lie low for some time.
However, the group has now re-emerged under the guidance of a new amir.
Sources said that the group also has its links with militants in Swat and FATA and there is a strong possibility that they have developed a nexus for executing terror attacks in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
‘All these terrorist networks, including the Ghazi Force, operating here in Pakistan somehow have links with the Tehreek-i- Taliban Pakistan (TTP),’ said Amir Rana, a prominent expert on militancy.

This is one of the many mistakes of our government. After cleaning up they don't take care of it instead they leave it on its own.

Lal Masjid did not have any terrorists.. It was a propaganda by Musharraf to please the west.. Majority of the muslims in Pakistan did not like this act by the Govt. Innocent kids and women died there.. Have a little bit of shame in you all liberal fascists..

We have seen and everyone has seen armed persons firing from mosque, Both are same type of criminals.

Yeah... and instead of eliminating or capturing a few persons who were firing, was it a good idea to bomb the whole Masjid with phosphorous bombs which caused alot of innocent deaths inside Lal Masjid.. Let me know how would you feel if there was some of your sister,daughter or cousin inside that..
and By the way previous night Lal Masjid admin had come to a consensus with Ch Shujat.. But it was Musharraf who nullified the agreement and ordered the attack !!

musharraf, never wanted a peaceful end to the lal masjid affair. yet lets not get hung up about musharraf alone, as the responses on this thread prove pakistan wants trouble with itself. yet its not really itself either because its the elite against the poor and ordinary.

the ordinary folk of pakistan, who believe in God and have been encouraged to believe in holy war by the state, have been obliterated by automatic machine guns when political solutions have been ignored. pakistan state only seems to want to govern a set amount of people. fata is too west, azad kashmir is too east, balochistan is too uninhabited, religious people are too religious.

elite pakistanis are people who told us 9/11 was an inside job, when they were actively participating in the war on terror in afghanistan and to a lesser extent in partly their own fata region. now you wont get many elite pakistanis talking about 9/11 because they want to talk about terrorists. they told us lal masjid was collecting weapons but the news reports clearly said an operation against them is imminent aswell

anyone on the fringes is likely to have lost respect for pakistan and those who feel they are or have lost everything are going full out to break the state. this is when people challenge the writ of the government. as in the case of lal masjid pakistan went on to fight a military operation (swat) as a result of it losing the confidence of the ghazis of the red mosque a few years earlier. im not sure if that battle is over yet either

i fully appreciate feelings of those who no longer want to live in a state which has terrorist organistaions such as ttp, p-ttp etc. for that reason i urge people to consider a partial but peaceful breakup of pakistan. most prominently fata region should be considered for seperation in return for peace this way. the americans will go in and do what they want to do but that is much better then pakistan doing the job for them. the americans will insist on pakistan doing more then the current operation against the mehsuds. the ttp is alot more broadly spread in fata then the mehsuds alone. pakistan is in no condition to resist the american requests. i cannot condone an aggressive approach towards america on behalf of someone else albeit the country of my descent. let fata go because its the most morally correct step pakistan can take

did you know scotland is almost an independent country and most people dont even know about it. thats is because seperation is not the be all and end all.

my advice is stop this crazy business in pakistan, just govern what you can. the people who you can and dont have any pretentions to being a superpower. the superpower pretentions have been blown right into prospective. pakistan currently is on par with afghanistan, somalia and whatever else failed states pakistanis have looked down upon. difficult situations require equally difficult and drastic measure to correct, i urge pakistan to take the most peaceful route out - quicktime

Islam does not allow the killing of innocents (whether muslim or nonmuslim) neither does it permit suicide, then where are these "suicidal, ready to kill all opposition" bin bulai mehmaan people coming from?

They clearly can not be muslims. Then who are they? What is their purpose? What is their true agenda?

We are all the same. We have one Quran, and we read mostly the same hadiths. The differences are man made and false. There is no such thing as "islamic findamentalists" no such thing as "Islamic radical" no such thing as "Islamic extremist" or any other word.

Masjid/Madrassah is the house of Allah, and is a center for learning.

^ there is Islamic precedent, where the Prophet flattened a mosque that was the location where the munafiqeen used to plan anti-Muslim activities. Not saying thats what should be done with the masjid, maybe just hand it over to better people.

1 this mosque is a govt building & its funded by the govt.

2 it has been taken over by bunch of thugs for criminal activities.

3 since its govt land and the govt can take it back use it for any purpose.

So, in light of all that they should tear it down. This place does not deserve to be standing.

This is exactly why we are suffering today, people like Munawar Hasan (Head of Jamate e Islami) is busy organising "Go America go" rallies rather than "Go TALIBAN Go" rallies.

Keep blaming Musharaff and indirectly keep supporting terrorists.

Everyone knows what was happening in Lal Masjid and then what happened after that. But no one questioned that whatever was happening in Lal Masji, which is also like in heart of Islambad, was carried out by whose permission.

All those weapons and heavy weapons got piled up in day or two right??? and ISI and all others were unaware of it.

Its a very old and bad game of our Army and ISI, everything was done under their nose and they nurtured it as well. But since things went terribly wrong, then they took action. Else, this is really amazing that how such a big pile of wepons got into Islambad’s Lal Masjid in first place.

Those who can read urdu much read the following, rests can get it translated by someone else.

Just like ravage said, how about just handing over the control to someone better.
