Lal Masjid - Disparities

Re: Lal Masjid - Disparities

^ That would be a good demand... but then there was list of 70/80 killed in a bombing of a house/madrassah and it was rejected over government's list of victims.

Re: Lal Masjid - Disparities

In the end a person is responsible for their actions. we can all feel sorry for the poor child who had o one and the societyfailed him and he was preyed upon by militant mullahs who turned him into an extremist automaton..we can also feel sorry for the child who was abused as a kid, and never got the help, and became an abuser himself. or a kid who just had a horrible life and became a mass murderer. BUT... as you feel sorry or them, they also have to face up to their own actions, no matter what the route was to get there.

From what I see the govt gave people ample opportunity to give themselves up, and many did. So the ones who did not..either they believed in the garbage fed to them by ghazi so much that they were a danger to society which is then their own fault, or there were people who were misdirected by the head honchos at lal masjid .. in which case it is lal masjid ppls fault, or these ppl were being held as human shelds which is again lal masjid ppls fault.

while I even feel compassion for ghazi as a huma being who had such a potential and just went wrong and then ended his life in such a manner, and I would have rather seen him arested and tried and jailed..or even rehabed so he could actively work to reverse teh type of things he was invoved in earlier... at the same time..if some militant or their supporter dies trying to wage war against law enforcement, then sorry they made their choice and they have to live or die with the consequences.

Re: Lal Masjid - Disparities

well Captain1 saheb did a good job at explaining, what I would've had to do.

Do you honestly think that it is possible for people with such backgrounds in a country like Pakistan to get the proper media coverage they need? It's a two-fold process as

1) They have little or no awareness of what media can or should do to vice their concerns

2) Even with all these talks about media-liberalization in Pakistan mainstream media in Pakistan much like here in US would report only what it has been dictated by the government. A recent example of that was when the media was told not to provide live coverage of Chief Justice's campaigns.

Rest assured, I have provided at least two sources to back my claims, one of them being the fromer Minister of State for Religious Affairs Dr. Aamer Liaquat Hussain, who resigned in the wake of the events at Lal Masjid. To read his article go to www.jang.com.pk and see the editorial page for July 13th in the archive.

Re: Lal Masjid - Disparities

If you keep repeating it often enough, loud enough, people will start believing it. Pakistanis are distrustful of their government anyways, regardless of whether it is Nawaz Sharif, Benazir or Musharraf who's leading it, so don't be surprised if 1000 becomes the accepted truth without any proofs or independent verification.

So far the only proof that has come out in support of the 1000 number is people like khanbaba, and Hareem's family, saying: "What, just 100 people died? I dont believe it. I feel the number is 1000."

Alright then.

Re: Lal Masjid - Disparities

dude, but why do we have a problem if the number of militants was 1000 and not 100. from my point of view if a 1000 potential suicide bombers died versus 100, its better.

of course for the militants and their pals that is not a good thing.

Re: Lal Masjid - Disparities

hmm i agree with you initiator, its all about what we think will fix the problem, to some its about eradicating the people rather than the mentality , for others the contrary is wiser and humane option. i personally dont think shedding blood will fix anything and certainly cant confirm to more the merrier logic. 100 or 1000 these are humans, youthful and some of them sadly misguided, trying to minimise the damage would be a better option. i hope the govt can build a new mosque and madrassah there with qualified teachers to provide a better platform to combat militant mentality, it sure is harder than bombing right ,left and centre but saner dont you think?

Re: Lal Masjid - Disparities

If the government does that.

The Mullahs will bomb it calling it a den of Infidels, Christians and Apostate thoughts corrupting the Islamic Youth led by the Zionist Regime of Musharraf

Re: Lal Masjid - Disparities

dude, I am so disappointd in you, a mullah (especially of the internet variety) will not call musharraf as musharraf, but they will call him busharraf. Please pay more attention to detail in future.

PS: mock one of their 'maulana' saheli's name and you will hear hadeeth on why it is wrong to mock someone's name ;)
