Re: lakh dee lanat najam sethi
Najam Sethi toild the truth, though he did not say people who are responsible of this mess. Fact is that, team consist of incompetent players, and it is not their fault that they are playing the way they have. Guilty is PCB management, selection committee and Najam Sethi himself. It is they who chose a team based on Parchi, nepotism, like/dislike and what not. Here is state of Pakistani openers. Same is true with rest of team players.
Let us Look at performance figures of Pakistani players in ODIs. Compare these figures with figures of other team players. Work out where Pakistan stands in this competition (group B teams). Think and if in doubt, check the figures I have given yourself.
Let me compare best openers in team … and believe me, comparable state of other team players are same (or similar). I have positioned the team according to their performance figures. Note: Average as well as SR, both counts in ODI and thus it is (Ave x SR) that gives true value of player in ODI.
SA:
Amla: Ave 56 … SR 89
Q D Kock: Ave 41 … SR 88
India:
Dhawan: Ave 45 … SR 90
Sharma: Ave 38 … SR 81)
UAE:
Amjad: Ave 40 … SR 84
Berenger: Ave 35 … SR 75
(UAE rest of team is not so good, hence they have to take back seat)
Ire:
Sterling: Ave 37 … SR 96
Porterfield: Ave 31 … SR 67
WI:
Gayle: Ave 37 … SR 84
Smith: Ave 19 … SR 93
Pak:
Shahzad: Ave 34 … SR 72
(unknown): ? … ?
(Pakistan rest of team is also pathetic)
Zimb:
Sikandar: Ave 29 … SR 75
Chibhabha: Ave 21 … SR 60
(Zimbabwe rest of team members are as good as Pakistan)
Players marked Red have Average as well as SR better than Pakistani opener (Ahmed Shahzad) ... actually, they have average and SR better than all Pakistani players except one (Berenger) whose figures are below Misbah (Ave 43 ... SR 73)
Just imagine, out of 12 players in competition with Pakistani opening pair:
Only 4 have lower average than Shahzad (2 of Zimb, 1 of Wi and 1 of Ireland) and only 2 have lower SR than Shahzad (1 of Zimb and 1 of Ireland).
And worse thing is that, no Pakistani players have average above 35 (except Misbah whose average is 42) and no Pakistani batsmen has SR over 75 (except UA, whose SR is 86 … and Sarfraz, whose SR is 85 but management seems biased towards him).
