to reiterate a point, it amazes me the wide-eyed innocence one needs to have to give a group even-odds to have committed the bombings, a few days after they say they will commit bombings, a few days after they take credit for yet another bombing, and when their claimed bombings must be in the hundreds now. although who really bothers to count, its a reset button after each bombing, clean slate. there really is no sense of history, it isnt even a markov model, we are perpetually reset at square zero.
it is not impossible that there are other forces at work in our chaotic country. it is very likely that TTP committed this act. they have taken credit for enough killing that it would be difficult to count. it wont change the nature of the organization an iota, even if a sinister conspiracy was in place to peg one more bombing to their portfolio for some reason. it wont change one bit the abuse that deserves to be heaped upon them every time someone thinks of them, even if they decided to become human-kitten from now on. although again, I cannot understand what kind of person repeatedly reverts their perception of TTP type organizations to passive bystanders every few days after their last bombing.
we cannot be brainwashed about TTP. not unless them bombing us is what you call brainwashing.

very well stated.
I am too pissed off right now to add anything to this thread. Thanks for stating in a civil manner what I want to write littered with four lettered words.
Well, While blaming the taliban jihadis, blame should also go to the people in army/ISI who had nurtured them. This guys were helped/trained/brain-washed by the army/ISI to achieve strategic goals. Now these taliban jihadis feel betrayed by the army/ISI. You cant just turn off switch on these people and un-brainwash them!

O Bahi, those Jihadis are long gone. They were trained for and they worked in Afghanistan.
Tell us something.
If you get hired to do a job "specifically" and given papers to work on the North Pole.
Would you then justify that you can work in Africa?
Where are your senses?
If you train a guard dog for your barn or for your hunting trips, Does that dog has right to bite you even when you fed it, bathed it, and cleaned its poop?
Heck no. unless the dog is rabies infested. And guess what, then you shoot that S.OB.

Just leave these lame excuses home. OK?
Easy there antiObl, nobody is siding with jihadis here.
But u cant brainwash, use people like tools and discard as soon they are no use. You will get blowback. In past, Army/ISI living cozly in defence colonies, let jihadi do their bidding/fighting.
It is plain and simple as that.
The punjabi politician and Army had been tolerating jihadi types around lahore/pindi for longtime. That is why lahore had escaped the wrath of these loonies. After intelligence started arresting their past protegies (e.g. taliban #2 in karachi recently) that they have turned on them.
The army/isi should not have used them as tools in past and should never do that in future. They should fight as they are doing now instead of running cement factories. Kapich!
All it takes is some 500 terrorists to cause terrible tragedies such as what Pakistan is experiencing over several years. For these 500 to be effective all it needs is some 5000 people to support them. That is all it takes.
My message to those who think only a small tiny fraction of Pakistani population is radicalized and that there is no harm in tolerating some extremism - think about that. That tiny fraction is all it takes to ruin your country. That's what has happened.
Do your math. 5000 is to support and 500 to terrorize. Wake up
Two related news
One from Afghanistan and second from Swat. KANDAHAR: Twenty-seven people have been killed and 50 more wounded in a string of suicide attacks in Afghanistan’s southern city of Kandahar city, the head of the city’s main hospital said.
The four explosions hit the centre of the city after nightfall today, and a shootout between police and militants followed, a Reuters reporter in Kandahar said.
Among the dead were civilians and police, said Abdul Qayyum Pukhla, the head of the city’s main hospital. Earlier he gave the death toll as 21 but said six more dead bodies had arrived at the hospital’s morgue.
Officials said the biggest attack was aimed at the prison in the city, at the centre of the Taliban’s heartland and the next major target for NATO forces this year.
Reuters reporter Ismail Sameem said that the first explosion was near the police chief’s compound and the second near the residence of President Hamid Karzai’s half-brother Ahmad Wali Karzai, who is the head of Kandahar’s provincial council.
Ahmad Wali Karzai, who was in the capital Kabul, said the biggest explosion was a suicide strike at Kandahar’s prison, where he believed insurgents were trying to release prisoners.
“The main target was the prison. The prison is very well guarded,” he told Reuters.
Taliban insurgents stormed the prison on the outskirts of the city in 2008, freeing around 1,000 prisoners, including 400 Taliban fighters.
Two of the other blasts took place near the provincial council building, including one about 200 meters away from his own home, and another struck near the police chief’s headquarters, Ahmad Wali Karzai said.
He said the other blasts appeared to be diversions designed to draw police away from the main attack on the prison.
Sameem said that police were shooting at the scene of the first blast. Windows in nearby buildings were shattered.
A police source in Kabul said four suicide bombers had attacked Kandahar and had also fired rockets into the prison.
Afghan police and Afghan special forces were deployed, and there had been an exchange of gunfire, the police source said.
Kandahar, Afghanistan’s second city has been the scene of numerous Taliban attacks. US-led forces plan to launch an operation this year to take back the city and surrounding areas, which have increasingly been under the insurgent’s control.
Kandahar was the spiritual homeland of the Taliban when the strict militants ruled Afghanistan in the 1990s, and the US and NATO commander, General Stanley McChrystal, considers it the main geographical target of the Taliban leadership.
It is also the home town of the Karzai family.
The bulk of 30,000 additional combat forces ordered to Afghanistan by US President Barack Obama at the end of last year are expected to be deployed in Kandahar as part of a major operation over the next few months. Thousands of Canadian troops also patrol the city. –Reuters
