Let’s not get too emotional, but from information collected, it seem’s that Lahore is quite the breeding ground for Cricketing Legends.
Few famous players born in Lahore:
Imran Khan
Fazal Mahmood
Abdul Qadir
Wasim Akram
Sarfaz Nawaz
Mudassar Nazar
Khan Mohammed
Saqlain Mushtaq
Saleem Malik
AH Kardar
Now please try to understand that this is not a bashing thread against the rest of Pakistan vs. Lahore. Obviously there is on and off cricketers born in Lahore too, but big names seem to be coming from there more often.
What makes Lahore such a important aspect for Pakistani Cricket? Is there better facilities for younger generations? Or maybe there is something in Lahore’s water?
I’m not boasting Lahore’s talent. Pakistan has produced other famous names like Miandad, Zaheer Abbas, Saeed Anwar, Waqar Younis, etc…
Lahore is still producing great talent to this day. Currently in the Pakistan Team to NZ there is 4 players.
Thats what Shoaib said in his interview the one he gave in NZL during first test between Pakistan and New Zeland but he was talking about the whole Punjab not just Lahore. He said the people of punjab are bigger and have big bones so naturally they are fast bowlers than he said probably Imran Khan was a big icon was one of his favourite :).
Any ways you guys can watch his interview at PakistaniMedia.com in the Exclusive section. It was pretty interesting to listen his views, Enjoy.

The thread is about cricketers from Lahore, not from Punjab. CL, come on you can do better.

I really don't like discussing what cities have produced more sportsmen (cricketers), because its very easy to turn it into the politics that has affected the whole country throughout its history. I just would like KK to stay away from such discussions.

But you are the one who made a political comment, hence my retort. If it was a sarcastic remark, my apologies, but I certainly didn't read it that way.

No apology needed bhai :) . Do you really think there's something to Lahore's water or atmosphere which produced these great players? Its an individual talent, no credit to where he is born.
