Lahore real estate

My parents are thinking of moving to Lahore. We are looking for a 1 kanal plot in a decent area. Any recommendations from Lahorites?

We are looking at all areas- I would like Bahria Town but my dad thinks it is too far from the centre. I am also keen on near the airport but again my parents are not as it is not fully developed. They are thinking of jubilee town or near there. As we don’t live there (parents settled in Bahawalpur area) a lahori input would be welcome !!

All you Lahoris out there- shame on you !! :mad2: :mad3:

Lahorion ko josh na dilao...

I am Lahori and came back from USA few months back.. Real estate market in Lahore is very very hot these days.. prices have sky-rocketed.. I been dealing with construction of houses as been a civil engineer..

True Bahria Town is far off even with new underpasses at Canal.. and there are few new colonies near airport offering a lot of plots..

In my view best bet would be Johar Town (but areas near Canal only) that offer great access to city by Canal... price ranges from 40-50 lacks

Wapda Town .. prices from 35-45 lacks a Kanal or Valensia around same range..

If u can afford Defence at 70-75 lack kanal it would be near airport too ot same price range in Model Town.

Check out Tech Socity , pricy but great one.

Is it the same Bahria Town they are building in Rawalpindi/Isloo area?

have u checked out Johar town??? i went to pakistan this year after a long time, and was surprised to see it developed nicely...its just next to Shaukat Khanam Memorial hospital....check out the latest prices...in march, the prices were soaring at 60 lac rupees for a descent 1 kanal house...

Johar Town s one of the biggest socities in Laore.. it streches and covers a large areas.. it starts from west of Town Ship a to Canal, South of Faisal town to Ring Road at South.. it has great areas like new Canal and place you mentioned but a lot of areas around villages that are prone to poor infrastructure... another complaint is that registration of plots i Jauhar Town.. be very careful as a lot of plots have been sold ficticiously and are a point of disputes.. Good areas in Jauhar Town are along the Canal.. plus prices u mentioned are valid for 10 marla house now andnot 1 kanal as they have shot up like hell in last few months..

Thank you very much for your replies - especially Degas - mujhe maaloom tha keh lahoriun ki ghairat ko lalkara to koi jawab mil jayega :french:

I am surprised at the rate the prices have gone up by. The prices are the same now as any developed country in the west. I am wondering whether it is a good time to buy a plot in Lahore- surely the prices will have to drop at some point- esp with all the new townships popping up all over the place. What do you guys think.

Johar Town seems ok then by consensus of all. I have an uncle who lives near Johar Town. What about EME housing society? anyone have any info on that? My uncle recommended EME housing (on Multan Road- near Wapda town). He said either Lalazar or Jubilee Town or EME but EME is the best. What do you guys say?

EME is a reat society as ar as facilities are concerned as it was developed by army engineers.. my uncle who was soieties sectertary from army and advised us to uy but as I wasnt in country I missed opportunity.. plot worth 12 lacks 2-3 yrs back is around 55 lacks :o: EME is about 6 km from Thokar Niaz Beg along canal parallel to Multam Road and nowhere near Wapda Town! If u want to live its a nice society with good neighborhood though a bit far from city..

^ Thankyou for your reply. 55 lacs is a bit too high- I was hoping to get something in the range of 35 lacs. I will visit Pakistan early next year and then buy (provided prices haven't risen beyond my budget by then!)
