Whats this school all about? I have heard alot of controversy on their Syllabus , yet they are considered one of the posh chain of schools in lahore .
anyone here who can shed some light on the pros and cons of this school?

hey have probably made it optional, there is nothing bad about it. I think they prepare you for GCSE A levels stuff and nobody cares about it when you apply for colleges.

That can be tricky if the student wants to pursue studies in Pakistan.
Pakistan studies and Islamic studies are compulsory subjects till Bachelors (Under Graduate). So, even if the student gets high scores in all other relevant subjects, they won't be issued an equivalence certificate for applying and enrollment in any university or college unless they have cleared Islamic studies.

My son goes to Lahore Grammar School and he has extensive syllabus for Islamiyat in grade 1 already and I am finally extremely happy with the school esp after changing my son’s school twice in 2 years. The only cons right now is their crazy raise in fee without notice 
Every branch of LGS has a different syllabus and management and fee structures. (you need to choose the branch carefully after a good research). The controversies were about the LGS Kabana branch for girls on M M Alam road. They still have the same detailed syllabus for Islamiyat but they have included some chapters about different religions like sikhism,buddhism,jews,judaism,etc and have renamed the subject from Islamiyat to “Comparative Religions” and people,as they always are, created loads of hype after Mubashir Luqman pointing out ‘removal of islamiat’ in his programme on a TV channel (his daughter studies in the same branch and I dont know why did he make an issue without any confirmation). I hope this clears your concern
