How late can you/do you stay out or drive out by yourself?

right now? as long as I want, as long as I have a ride home. If I have ot take the train my husband prefers i be home by 10 at the latest..but he understands if i'm late....but I have come home at midnight, maybe later, a few times.

Now - also as late as I want....when I was living at home obviously there were guidelines that my parents set out for me.

since i hate hate hate to spend my night in jeans, so i hate to go beyond maghrib. but i have been out entire night in the computer lab. or till mid night, 2 am working my ass off on photoshoots, photo developing.
and until i am not home, my mom is always sitting on jayea-namaz. she waits for me the entire time. this is one of the factors i dont like to come home late...cuz my mom waits for me the entire time.
ps. may ALLAH SWT grant her all the happiness exist in this world, and also afterlife. Ameen

Most of the evil acts are done under the blanket of darkness (at night), it is always better to avoid staying away alone at night, unless one doesn't have a better choice.

The last I stayed out once was almost 11, that was at a friends party. After that all hell broke loose at home :(

If i am around my sister can stay out till 2 am on average. One time we were out with friends and came home around 4:30 am. My mommy was fine with me. But did my sister get the cold shoulder. She is only really allowed to drive late at night when I am at home and I go with her.

Err..just saying your mum is paranoid would be a big understatement. So she’s sat on the jaye-namaz the entire time you’re out? 
My mum’s paranoid too, she’ll call me if it gets past 12, but if I let her know I will be out late she doesn’t wait up. My sister has probably been out till 1am, but its always at a friend’s house and she has a driver with her usually.

My mom knows where I'll be at and what time she should be expecting me home. If I'm not home by that time then she gets worried and starts calling.
But there's no set 'curfew' time. I just get this feeling in my gut when I know I've been out too late and maybe landing myself in trouble. If I'm out with friends/sisters past 10 pm is when I know I should start heading home. If I have major studying going on/Finals week then I can even stay out till midnight in the library and she will be okay.

interesting that most people are saying 10 or 11...that's the same for me too. Usually anytime after then i'll get phone calls and a very sarky mother waiting for me saying "oh, what was the point coming home at all...you should have stayed out later" :) i get the feeling my hubby to be will be the same!
The latest i've been out was 3am but that was a road trip with my bro...doesn't really count i guess!

lol. i take buses so pretty much I am on my own and in summer Isha prayers time (jamat timing) even exceeds to 10 pm, 11 pm. besides my mom is my friend, she waits so we can talk and she also prepares table for me.
Even if i am waiting for someone that late night, since i usually pray Isha during that time, i extend my Quran recitations and read them with translation. the deeper i dig tafseer the more i able to connect with my past personal experiences.
so mothers aren’t paranoid, you guys just dont understand their unconditional love. wait till they hit their 70-80 when they barely recognize you, let alone pray for you. and wait till they are not their. forget praying, no one is not even there to wait for you. (only if you are lucky enough to have a wife who sits their the entire time and prays for your protection)
ps. i read it some where that Prophet Musa (AS) used to ask strange things to ALLAH SWT. and when His (AS) mother died, Allah SWT said to him that from now on be careful what you ask from me, because you dont have a back anymore that prays for you.
