Ladies Shalwar

I want to know why is the difference between man’s and woman’s shalwar?

What is the purpose of belt in shalwar?

Re: Ladies Shalwar

very weird question.anyways men's hav no belt n thus very wide(gher wali) at the waiste while belt ones r good for smart dressing.sume frumpy ladies like the one without belt too

Re: Ladies Shalwar

Do Men's shalwar have belts?

Re: Ladies Shalwar

Perhaps you people have not got my question.

I am asking that women have belt in their shalwar while men have not, why?

Why there is not common wearing for both?

I have heard from one tailor that less cloth is required for ladies shalwar and it is relatively easy to stitch, then why to waste money and time for the shalwar that men wear?

Re: Ladies Shalwar

One more thing is that belts are used to make any lower wearing tight but the belt in ladies shalwar does not server that purpose, then why it is called belt, why then joint is made for belt?

Please reply to my question

Re: Ladies Shalwar

Someone already answered all your why’s but here you go again (don’t know if these are actually serious queries though )
Men’s shalwar don’t have belts. Men’s kameez isn’t fitted at the waist, its pretty much straight from top so any extra fabric of shalwar that gather’s at the waist cannot be seen.
Women’s shalwar has belt for fitting purpose. Women’s kameez has a proper fitting and if you wear a shalwar without belt there will be some obvious extra fabric around the waist.

One more thing is that belts are used to make any lower wearing tight but the belt in ladies shalwar does not server that purpose, then why it is called belt, why then joint is made for belt?
There are two type of belt generally used (with hooks/zipper or with elastic) in both the cases it does make lower wearing tight
