MIAinVA - I am/was a gamer too and a very hardcore one at that. 5 hours would have just been a warm up :) I had loads of other hobbies as a teenager too. Getting older things were naturally given up anyway. I was always sad to think I might not one day have time for gaming though and yea it'd be great to have more hours in the day. But I'm enjoying whatever else I do too.
I'm lucky in that my husband enjoys the same things I do (even though we didn't know it straight away). We play games together when we have time. I don't think you need to give it up but things like this will take a back seat whether you want them to or not.
Oh.. and reading what snowy said.. we enjoy watching the same stuff - House, Lost, Heroes so we'd always try to watch them together.
Lucky you, I had to give them up initially cuz my husband said "Kids play video games, pagal ho kiya" and he laughed at me and that made me so mad at that time lol.
Anyways, after 5 years of marriage, I'm getting back into gaming yaayyy...... got him a Wii which is gathering dust, since he's definitely not into it. And I have my portable Nintendo DS :p so happy about it. I miss the PC games though, I miss playing Civilization, Caeaser, Monkey Island, Age of Empires....... awesome games.
Did you play Strategy too, cuz those would definitely involve 4-5 hours as warm-up :)
