Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

i did and am on antibiotics .....but i was wondering if any of the women here have gone through it and what helps and doesn't in a situation like this.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

Avoid tomatoes in your diet.

There is something called Kaali Daal in Pakistan
Its soaked overnight and the water for that Daal is very good for you when you are suffering from urnie infections.

Drink plenly of water.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

People say to drink cranberry juice regularly for Urinary tract health. Also make sure to take your medicine regularly while you need it.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

Sorry to hear this. Try Homeopathy. It works . There is a remedy called "cantharis". If you want more details mail me. Cranberry juice actually helps but not if the UTI is chronic.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

have never suffered from it so cant help! sorry

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

Cranberry juice, according to many, is a myth. I used to drink it religiously, then lost the habit. I'm not feeling any worse/better than I used to.

Stick to the antibiotics. It'll be over soon. Complete the full antibiotic regiment they gave you.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

No Cranberry juice does jack ****.

Although Ganna ka juice is very good.
The thing is, the infection comes and goes whenever it wants
you can reduce the symptoms

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

Thank you girls!

LB: my mom told me that tomatoes are garam in taseer (which i never knew)..and that they're avoided by ppl with kidney problems??? so thanx for the tip!

I love kaali daal but it's suppose to be super garam in it's taseer. might or might not try that one:) mom said that moong daal is good.
Sahar02: thanx, i am drinking lots of liquids, especially cranberry juice.
Tashiqa: Is there homeopathy available in the US??? UTIs can be chronic???? do u know what might the symptoms be if it's chronic?
Impulse: pray that u never suffer from it. It's painful:(
PCG: I actually found that cranberry juice has greatly helped me so far. Someone (family doc) said to stop the antibiotics if i feel better in a few days??? but i might complete the dose.

LB: I use to LOVE ganna ka juice while i was in pak, can't seem to find anything close to what it use to taste there.....do places even sell sugarcane juice here??? Are u saying once u get the infection it comes back again:( i hope not.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

Faryat, i dun think its that kaali daal that most ppl eat.

Its a different kind of kaali daal and the paani of it is very very karwa
I think its boiled with the water and then the water is set aside to drink
You cant eat the daal after boiling, just throw it away.

My naani used to make the water for me and they had to force me to drink it
but it did work wonders.

I dunno if Gannnay ka juice is available in your area, try the farms, i suppose.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

Faryat - SO sorry about your suffering. Here are some alternative remedies to cure and prevent UTI
Vit C 500mg every 3-5 hours for 3 days. Stop if loose motion is experienced. Vit C helps to acidify urine making bladder less inviting for bacteria.
Cranberry juice drink 500ml pure unsweetend per day OR take cranberry supplements 400mg 2ce a day. Prevents bacteria stickng to urinary tract.
Acidophilus - A Must if you are taking antibiotics...for anyone taking antibiotics. Or eat loads of live yoghurt.

Go see doc again if within 2-3 days symptoms are still severe.

Hope it clears up fast. Drink a glass of water every hour to flush harful substances from your system and for future never ever ignore urges to urinate.

Vaginal disharge with burn sensation, fever, chills or back pain and blood in urine are signs of chronic case. Go doc ASAP - hope that this does not happen to you as could lead to kidney infection SO take care...get well soon

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

cranberry juice has been shown to be (very) effective to prevent urinary tract infection.....perhaps to a lesser degree also as a treatment.

The way it works is by making the urine more acid.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

yes tomatoes are not good for kidneys -

that's all i know :)

wishing for your speedy recovery (aamen)

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

I am a Dr. of homoeopathy and have treated such cases before. I am in Dubai right now and have no idea about Homoeopaths in US, although if you research I am sure they will be available. homoeopathy is a safe, permenant way of curing diseases, as opposed to the Allopathic treatment which targets only the symptoms and not the root cause. I may be able to do a case-taking for you on-line and prescribe the remedy. You have to locate a Homoeopathic pharmacy in your area and most Homoeopathic remedies are sold OTC.
The symptoms you describe (blood in urine, pain etc.) show that it is chronic, and not acute. To avoid reoccurance I suggest you get this treated homoeopathically. Good luck.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

i did get blood in urine once after a long jog in over 100 degrees heat.i dont think it was infection.i had deydrated pretty badly and did'nt have any water left in the body.doctor did check me out and all the results came negative.he did give me some medication and i avoided drinking caffeine before running for a while cause i think caffeine can cause dehydration.

Re: Ladies.....PLEASE help?!?!!

How about prevention by changing behaviors? Always wash and wipe front to back.

I don't know if you're married, but a lot of women get UTI's from sex because vaginal bacteria gets transferred into the urethra (doctors call it honeymoon cystitis because it's so common). That can be alleviated by finding a new position and by being extra careful with hygiene and where your hands have been before being touched (this is especially valuable for your hubby to know).
