Ladies, please be graceful!

I happened to be at a lunch yesterday. Mom dragged me along to her home economics association meeting followed by lunch. What could i have done there but notice how women had dressed up and done their make up etc.

So there was a clear divide.

One half was that of graceful women. They had a nice manicure, pedicure, facial. They were dressed up in a decent way, with make up they could carry well.

The other half, well, oh well, the most annoying part was ill fitted dressing. Did the mirror lie to them or what? A lady’s blouse had turned into a muffin top. Another one had the tires of flash oozing, trying to tear out of the cloth. I wondered how she could breath. Another chubby lady wore churidaar along with a long shirt. It gave absolutely wrong bounce to her behind when she walked.

All they needed was to keep their blouses, shirts, trousers a little lose and they would look elegant. Whats the charm in keeping the clothes tight, show off curves and look clumsy?

That just made me laugh....sorry!

I see them too, I’d love to tell them what would’ve looked better but no free consultancy

Last Ramadan an Aunty was wearing a shirt 3-4 sizes to small and her top button popped and fell. Why why why!?

Re: Ladies, please be graceful!

That would be disgusting. She must have felt embarrassed?

Re: Ladies, please be graceful!

not just women, its a man thing too.....my dad bless him, is in between large and extra large, however he insists hes still aMEDIUM...and is outraged when we buy him large/xl shirts he says ohuuu yeh to bahut khulla hai..even though its because it actually fits and isnt stuck to his belly....

im the complete opposite, I’m too embarrassed of my love handles to wear a tight tshirt

Pakistani women are obsessed with the two F’s

Fashion

and

Fitting

:smack: I swear to God this is all I hear when I go to Pakistan

Re: Ladies, please be graceful!

^ lol..so true!

Re: Ladies, please be graceful!

I’ll be honest, I feel like a right slob and if I wear something that is too loose, even though others may think it looks fine. :bummer:

I think there is a lot to grace…its not just how you dress or makeup, but how you walk…talk…unfortunately some people are not naturally “elegant” and even if they TRY to be decent, they dont get it right :hinna: oh well.

Re: Ladies, please be graceful!

who cares about what people wear? As long as they feel good in what they are wearing, it's all good. I would rather wear smtng i feel good in than smtng that makes others feel good ab me (but i feel crappy in it).

Re: Ladies, please be graceful!

yes in pak even here in abroad women like to wear over fited dresses dont know y....i thinklack of knowledge n just think dat they r luking 'HOOR' lolzz...n ladies wid stupid colors hair dye dat makes them a red cow...n in pak there is mania for hair color, watever the skin tone is just go to parlour n turn urself in a golden or bleached hair....n the most illfitted dress dat could b cheap luking if some1 wearing over tight shirt from chest...so common in desis....dont know y..

Re: Ladies, please be graceful!

people keep forgetting tht fashion requires right sense. Fashion is not just wearing bright colors and fitted clothes. It requires proper SENSE! I hav seen girls who are actually over weight but so decently dressed. And girls who are ultra skinny but they just jump to sleeveless fitted clothes without shaving their armpits! eww eww eww!!

The grace & how you carry urself is what defines fashion. If a girl has confidence to carry whatever she is wearing then she is good to go but bulging stomach and tires is just soooooooooooooo unattractive!
