So all those ladies who work in offices, what is your dress usally like? How do you dress up for office?
I am mostly in dress pants with a lil long shirts, kurta style, and my shawl/scarf is always with me. I want to bring some change in my office wear, but lacking new ideas.
May be I should try something like in this pic, not the skirt of course
Well Im still a student but when I went for my internship last year, they told me I could wear anything, there's no dress code. So I was good in my jeans and a nice top.
When I do start working professionally, I'll be wearing pants and a shirt mostly.
I always wear tailored slacks/trousers and pair it with a nice top. I call myself the sweater set/twin set queen because I have a dozen in my wardrobe, almost in every color. I find sweater sets looks professional and are comfortable. When I have a meeting with a client or senior management I will wear a proper business suit, but given that most of the others in the office, including the VP and SVP wear business casual, when I wear a business suit, everyone's first question is "do you have an interview?"
We have casual Fridays (can wear jeans), but the rule of thumb is, you wear darker jeans and should still be dressed with a professional look so that in case you have a last minute client meeting, you would be presentable.
Oh, and accessories make the outfit - so nice earrings, necklace, bracelet can finish any outfit.
And don't forget the shoes - I love my shoes and sometimes it's the shoes that add the oomph to the outfit!
