Mmm.. sounds good Diva. And yes I think that sounds like enough food for that many people. I think the only other thing I'd offer is some type of dessert. Even if it's a plate of strawberries and grapes. I think women like to sample food more than men. so your guests will probably have just a little of this and a little of that.
nice menu Diva but i think if u will add a curry or fried or roasted chicken with biryani it will be better ,anyway it will depend on your choice otherwise quantity is enough.
I'm having a small house warming party myself this Sunday. But I'm making Biryani, BBQ Chicken Tikas, and Punjabi "chikkar" chholay with Irani naans. I wanted to mix and match non-desi stuff in there too but our food tastes so distinctively different it does not go too well with other ethnic foods. I'd suggest subtituting Chicken sandwich and pasta salad with something else. Or at least pasta salad with something else. I don't think it goes too well with shami kabab and dehi barae taste. :)
Diva, in my experience, it all depends on how many of the women are on diet and how many will bring their children. Children sometimes waste food, especially if the mothers are too busy chatting and often prefer finger food and non-Desi stuff. Women on diet usually eat less but that shouldn't be a problem becuase left overs are far more tasty. :-)
yummm sounds I agree with above posts though, hmmm make an easy dessert. And you could also add something healthy, instead of pasta salad, have some healthy salad.
Diva i too think pasta salad is ok as,it will be varity of slads then but chiker cholai is dish good with nana and if u are making biryani then made some stuff that taste good with biryani, and if u making chikker cholai then make dishes goes well with nan i will prefer u to make broast or some thing dry,u can add simple dry mash kee dall i think it will be good ,anyway thse are our suggestion but it depends on the ladies too that they like to eat dasi food or other things,Diva goodluck for the party.
Guys and Gals :- thanks for all your support. The party was a hit. There was more than enough food to go around and people thanked me more than 3 times. I think the aunties even went for seconds and thirds. Phew !!
I was a little nervous but it all worked out at the end. Now, we have extra biryani for this weekend :)
LOl..left over food..yeah its always gud to cook more food than less! Next time u can try sumthing diff like chinese, thai, italian mix..sumthing diff in dessert..like chocolate cake..key lime bars or sumthing fruity! I luved ur childrens menu..
