I’ve just realised all the nauseous belly aching after drinking milk is probably lactose intolerance. It’s been steadily growing worse and today the pain was so instantaneous that the dots connected today.
I drink milk everyday and love the taste. Are there any easily available pills that do lactose breakdown or any natural foods that do that. I know almond milk etc are good substitutes but I have no idea where I’ll find it easily in lahore.
Re: Lactose intolerance
You can find lactase enzyme pills pretty easily here in North America at least. They should help you with the intolerance. That being said it depends on the degree of intolerance, for some people even the pills don't help. Some people say yoghurt can help improve intolerance because of the probiotics but again it depends person to person.
If you can't find almond milk, its actually very easy to make. Just soak almonds for 12-24 hours, blend in a processor and strain. You can add a dash of vanilla or dates for better flavour when blending.
Re: Lactose intolerance
I had the same problem. My mother bought me lactose free milk. It's not actually lactose free, it contains the enzyme lactase, which helps break down lactose. Over here, I drink the the milk Zymell. I don't know if you have it over there but it really helps, doesn't taste any different either. Try finding some other brand that sells lactose free milk.
Re: Lactose intolerance
Milk has more lactose than other dairy products... If you only get a stomachache from milk then you might be Lactose sensitive. I am lactose sensitive, I realized I only have issues when the milk is cold or if I'm drinking it on its own, if its hot or mixed in chai then for some weird reason I'm fine. My friend is lactose intolerant and takes pills 30 mins before consuming any lactose. Check with your doctor, he/she may be able to prescribe you some depending on severity.
Hope this helps :)
