once the baby is out, the pains go away like magic. there are a few pangs to get the afterbirth out but you're too busy to notice all that. Yes its scary till you go thru it - I was really scared because of my needle-phobia. NO needles in my back thank you very much. But as soon as my first was born I was like, lets do this again and have lotsa babies!! lol! Really, it isnt that bad.
