Hmmm, so i have head about a good thing or two about this so while i was at a mall i just went to its counter to get some info on their products…however the concerned representative was not there but somebody from another counter came and told me about the prices and i was like oookkkkieeee, glad i didnt get too much info on the products and ended up wanting to buy it cuz damn, are the expensive or what .
I consider myself quite dil khula person but i still think twice before i splurge on my skincare and buy my chanels however compared to la mer, even chanel is cheap! .
Maybe La Mer is worth the money, i don’t know but really i wonder how many average people are able to buy it? And exactly what it is that makes it so expensive. If i am not wrong, i think its highly used by the celebs and maybe the hype helps?
So how many of you use it and is it really worth the money? Please tell me it is otherwise my heart wl break for all the money lost .
Used it for a few months. I have very oily skin and the cream was a bit too heavy (only worked in the winters on my skin). However, loved it for the time I used it. Cleared the redness I get during the winter months and my skin was always felt quite moisturized and soft even if I did skip a day or two of not applying in the harsh winters.
I have friends who swear by it (they will never buy anything else) and for some it didn’t do anything. I would recommend getting a sample (if you can, they sometimes sell it on EBay, obviously from a good seller) before you go –ahead and splurge.
I don’t think I would buy it again, because I have since discovered others that work better for me and La-Mer always reminds me of something my Mum would use (I.e. more mature skin), but that’s just how I feel and not necessarily trueJ.
PS: I would recommend La Mer Eye-cream more than the face one if you really wanted to try something from this line.
rose hip oil is amazing. my mom has ultra ultra sensitive skin and can only use prescription lotions and potions.. this helped her immensely! her skin is so supple and i swear, wrinkle free.. even at her age. mashallah.
before this.. she was using god knows what and ridic-ly expensive crap that would do nothing for her...
I have never used La Mer. Given the price of it…I will never use it in the future either. However, I have no doubt that it does what it claims to do. But here’s the kicker…it’s not worth the money. Because plenty of products out there has the same ingredients, also achieves the same results, and are MUCH cheaper.
The only truly amazing thing La Mer has is a great marketing department. Their packaging is great…getting celebs to endorce the product is always a good thing…and of course, attaching a ridiculously high price tags is a brilliant move. After all…if the company is charging such a high price for it…then it must be a great product right?
Regardless of the brand and who sells it…I believe its always important to actually read the ingredient list. A consumer who is conscious about spending money should become familiar with common ingredients in skin care…and make decisions based on those ingredients in the products. Based on what I read online about La Mer…I’m not sure which ingredient is worth the money. Here are 2 articles but there are tons more out there.
Agreed. Rosehip oil (or even a concoction of some essential oils e.g. argan, vitamin e..), would be more holistic and natural approach and way cheaper. Having used all store brought creams etc before, I feel these natural and pure/simple oils work so much better.
I just bought First aid beauty moisturizing cream from sephora and have been using it for a week and absolutely love it. Its super moisturizing, makes the makeup look dewy and it was 28 bucks for a tub. The only thing that suits me is philosophy hope in a jar but it was drying out my skin like crazy. My nand suggested this and it works gorgeously!!!
ive been using their foundation for years. im an idiot. dont do it. they are a thicker, gloopier version of max factor. maybe go back to it once you breach 50
