Could you guys help me choose a no-fail red shade. One that works on a lot of skin tones. Have a prob with red lipsticks. They just refuse to look good on me:(:(

I have fair skin and thick lips. I dont apply anything lipstick or gloss.
i dont really have interest in makeup but after seeing all these posts, I want, now, to use make up as well.
Gina, Can you pleae suggest me how can i use lipstick on thick lips. my arent that thick, less than priyanka chopra; but i am shy to apply or do any experiment. and what colour would best suit my skin tone.

Roshni line u're lips with a lip-liner slightly inside u're natural lipline and fill-in with dark colors..dark colors give the appearance of a small mouth. Deep mocha, plums would look nice for the evening.. and caramel, light nudes are ideal for the day.
Apply a lip liner that matches your lip colour (or the lip shade you wish to apply after, never anything different) and line the lips, then fill in the whole of you lips with the liner. Blot a little.
actually i use one lipliner and put on a totally different color...gives a great effect.

MAC Ruby Woo- 1st time wearing any kind of lipstick, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much it suited my skin tone. So moral of the story is you don’t know what looks good on you until you experiment!

I have really full (bee-stung sorta) lips, my lower lip looks really full, and reds/maroons/chocolate browns dont look good on me, I feel that it makes my lips look more protruding. I mostly wear nudes or occasionally medium browns, and soft pinks. Can you girls suggest a good red that would look good on me?

Thanks. Yeah, it's a toss up b/w Ruby Woo & Russian Red but they're so similar that you only need one of them.

Honey, you can pull off anything- most girls would kill for full lips like that. Show them off!

I wish my lips were just a tiny bit thinner lol
Dont know why I feel I cant pull off dark lips! And my upper lip is darker than the lower lip so very light colors dont really show up well. Im looking for a good shade of red, if I cant I’ll be going for nude color lips on my wedding 
the picture in the middle, with brown/golden was done by professionals, in the other two I just used soft pinks. Can’t dare to go darker than the brown in the middle, whenever I try it on I feel I look like a vampire

I know what you mean, but not all colored lips are dark. My mom’s generation is into dark colors- brownish colored reds, etc. but our generation, not so much. You don’t have to go for a dark red if you’re not comfortable. As for the discoloration, it’s easy to hide with primer or layering lip pencil and lipstick. If you are having a trial makeup session, you should ask your makeup artist to try out various looks so you can see what you like. Perfect time for experimenting. You are lucky!

Yeah I guess you're right! The biggest issue I'm having in choosing the right colors for make-up, jewelry, dresses and just about everything is that I'm a niqabi and I just can't try on the things. None of the boutiques have try rooms here, I just dont know how am I going to get the cosmetics mainly the foundation and lipsticks. Any suggestions anyone?
