how come I as desi feel guilty and try to avoid desi MUSLIM ppl who drinks alchohol and get laid with other girls when in the same zone i got GORA/HISPANIC frienz doing the same thing in a much broader level And i ignore that and do rarely hang out with them.
.. and why does it get worse when i see a muslim girl doing that instead of a guy.
i guess maybe coz in my preception girls are innocent and shouldnt be messing around with all that wild stuff out there.
Some will say it's double standards, and maybe rightfully so, that it's okay for a nonmuslim, nondesi to do certain things and not okay for a desi/muslim to do these things. I can't give a gud answer as to why we feel that way, but I know I do sometimes :) Maybe because these things are not a part of our religion or culture for that matter. Yes, drinking and dating happens, but it's not a part of the culture like it is here, but rather they're rebellions.. sorta. I dunno man, I would stay away from those type of ppl too, I don't wanna hang around with them...
I think it has to do with the idea that the muslim people were taught not to do these things, and still do them.. and probably would be a bad influence on you, possibly encourage you to join them in their drinking/dating.. where as the goras don't have the same restrictions, and many of them would respect your restrictions, even though they themselves may participate in those same activities..
