Anyone from kuwait here? i wanna know more about the place from people not from websites, etc. So would really like if anyone is from there here and can tell me how it is in kuwait, the good and the bad :)
Also, what about the education @ kuwait? any good universities there?
What do you want to know about the place? are u looking forward to move here or just want to visit the country?
No there aren't any good ( quality) educational institutes here, few private universities has been established recently but they are expensive as hell yet the quality is not that high even they are affiliate with foreign institutes...
School, doesn't matter how expensive of cheap they are of same crap quality, reason, teachers are not well paid ( i know a British lady who used to be a lecturer in Kuwait University, she was not paid her for a year and then she left)
Hospital or health facilities are great for Kuwaiti People in Govt. Sector, otherwise one need to book a bed in hospital if he is going to have a heart attack...
Private Hospital are very expensive and quality is not high, my wife got a little problem after the delivery, the doctor in one of the top private hospital recommended a surgery, i sent her to Pakistan and she is doing well Now ( ofcourse without a surgery)... even if anyone is going to have surgery, Hospitals in Kuwait are seldom recommended for doing so.. even Kuwaiti People do not get their treatment from these hospitals...
Food is good but due to inflation there has been a price-hike in almost all the commodities.
Foreigners cannot owe real-estate/houses in Kuwait, apartments are initially made for Yajooj-Majooj ( people of height not more than 4 feet) but since they have not came out yet so they Let them to the expats, at very high rate, a single bedroom apartment in an average neighbor hood, costs almost KD 170-250
Try to avoid any connection with govt offices, they don't speak English and would not entertain any query even if you speak arabic, yes WASTA ( connection) would do un-do-able
Kuwait has one of the worst traffic in the world, at average 17 people a week are killed in road accidents
The country is secure, you can walk around in the middle of the night without any fear
Have some good shopping malls and eating places, Lebanese food is great, however there are other restaurants, few parks and long coastal line.
