muii = face/temper
kuRhmuii = ill tempered

Its a Punjabi word that means engagement. Its a Sikh/Hindu Punjabi ceremony.

Thats a good point KKF. But I think Sagai is the word for Engagement in Punjabi and even they have used this word in portrayal of Punjabi families. Like in ‘Pyar to hana hi tha’, Ajay Devgan’s family was Punjabi and they had this song ‘aaj hai sagai, sun laRki ke bhai’.

maiN ne to "kurmaayee" lafz kabhii sunaa hii nahiiN thaa is liye maiN nahiiN bataa saktaa...India men aam taur par "mangnii", "sagaaii" yaa phir "lagan" kahte haiN...mangnii aur sagaaii kaa lafz Muslims bhii bolte haiN jab k lagan kaa lafz non Muslims. maiN ne lagan karna kabhii Muslim ko kahte haiN sunaa.
Urdu ke alfaaz jo older Muslim generation meN aam haiN vo haiN "nisbat" aur "aqd" hai.

True, but the lyricist probably did not realize that you will catch on to his use of the word “kurmai”

Its not khurmai, its kuRmai.... KuRum = Kutunb in typical Sindhi is family.. so KuRmai = KuRum +aai = entering the family :)

yes padhri = announcement is the word for the rasm of Rishta tai hona in Sindhis. KuRmai is not Sindhi word, I was just digging Sanskrit roots of KuRmai
