So I was told that you can get very nice artificial (and sometimes even real) kundan jewelry from Southall, London for really low prices… is that true? And is there similar availability in Toronto/Mississauga? I’d like to get some earrings and rings for wearing to parties and stuff…nothing too heavy.
Re: Kundan jewelry
Not sure how low prices you’re thinking of, because the people in the shops tend to know the value of the things they sell and will sell it at similar prices to everywhere else.
I’ve not been Southall recently, but a close family friend bought an amazing bridal set from southall for her valima a few weeks ago for a reasonable price. Definitely worth having a look down there.
I’ve bought things from green street in London lots of time (eg. bees), this isn’t the cheapest place but they have some of the nicer stuff in Green Street.
Re: Kundan jewelry
Thanks for your reply! You're right about low prices...it's pretty subjective. The friend who told me about Southall showed me a beautiful ring that she'd bought for just 10 pounds, so that's what I'm basing it on.
One more question. I don't know when I'll be going to England again, but when I do go, how do I know what the good shops for this sort of jewelry in Southall are? Are there any that are particularly well-known?
Kundan jewelry
Yes u can Get there very Nice jewellery in a good Price Range :@:

so Take your Time ;)
Re: Kundan jewelry
where is jewelery?
Re: Kundan jewelry
there is definitely availability in Toronto/Mississauga but I suspect the pricing may be a little higher for the nicer stuff.
for example, a ring like this:
would probably run about CDN $40.
Re: Kundan jewelry
That isn't too bad, I think! Where should I start to look for these shops? Thanks in advance!
Re: Kundan jewelry
There are a couple that I've been to:
One is in the Albion and Islington area. I wish I could remember the name....I think it's Kohinoor. It is the only Pakistani shop in the area; the rest are Indian shops.
One is called Dhaagay and is located in the Heartland, Mississauga area.
I am told that Sai Vachan is also good for kundan. They are located in Brampton. I haven't been there so I can't speak for the availability and quality there.
Re: Kundan jewelry
I am not sure about Southall, because in Southhall you will have branded showrooms where discount is available in festival season only. You can try at green street, I used to buy my jewelery stuff from there at reasonable price.
Re: Kundan jewelry
Are there any specific shops on green street that you would recommend? And what are realistic/reasonable prices for rings and earrings? Thanks in advance!
Re: Kundan jewelry
I wonder if Mehndi on Green Street has started carrying jewellery yet?
I know they used to have some very nice Pakistani attire but I don't know about accessories.
