Does anyone know the difference between kulfi and kulfa? I sure as heck don’t.
Re: Kulfi vs. Kulfa
I thought kulfi was the icecream and kulfa was a leafy vegetable like spinach?

Kulfa, more popularly known as kulfi, dates back to the 18th century, when the royal spreads seldom went without this dessert. Stored in matkas or clay pots, packed with ice cubes and a fair mixture of rock salt that helps to maintain the cold temperature, this traditional Indian ice cream comprises of creamy condensed milk, sugar syrup, pistachio, gum and dry-fruits for decorations.

Re: Kulfi vs. Kulfa
Kulfi is sakht (hard) and Kulfa is naram (soft). I honestly think someone got the names reversed.
Re: Kulfi vs. Kulfa
I swear, kulfa is also a leafy veggie :(
Re: Kulfi vs. Kulfa
lol. reminds me of this joke that happened.
Kulf*i **is the desi icecream. Kulfa* is actually a vegetable, leafy greens that you cook like saag.
Re: Kulfi vs. Kulfa
all i remember from ages ago was kulfi was the cone shape type one and them they had king kulfa ice-cream...tasted like kulfi with pistachios and all and was soft.
and kulfa is also a saag... 'kulfay ka saag' i heard...just like Ira and khumar mentioned
Re: Kulfi vs. Kulfa
i've also heard "kulfay ka saag"....but really do not know what it is.....
i dont know the exact difference between them ,but i think kulfa has a lot of nuts in it like almonds and pistachios whereas kulfi does not and also kulfi is on a stick (like a popsicle) but kulfa isn't....
kulfi or kulfa.....yummmoooo
Re: Kulfi vs. Kulfa
Bingo.....I had the same thing in mind. I always thought Kulfa had more stuff in it whereas kulfi was just simple (and cheap).
PS - Kulfay ka saag? confused, scratching head]
