So I got notification of a PM and read it on my regular email, it was one of those “I have millions to invest, need your help will give you lots of money if you help me” type of scams. So I go to GS thinking that I’d report it and then delete it (or send a nasty response) and IT WASNT THERE!
Your site is RIGHT on top of these scammers!

Wait, you received a private message notification via e-mail but when you logged in to actually read/reply to the message, the private message was not there? Or do you mean some THREAD was not there?

I got a notification in my regular mail account that there was a private message for me on GS from (username) and this is what it says: then it had the content of her message but I cannot reply to it from there, I have to go to GS.
I went to GS and there was NO new message in my GS mailbox. So I would not be able to reply to this message (except that the sender supplied a yahoo address to reply to).

That's weird. Seems like the PM disappeared before you logged into gupshup. That's not something that the moderators would do. Moderators can remove threads only, not private messages.

Mama, is it possible that it is an old e-mail notification in your mail?

One possibility is that the account was deleted and hence, all the database references/lines (pm being one) were also dropped?

Mama -- You have a few of these SPAM type messages on your visitor profile. Is it possible the message was about that?
