Salaam

My husband and I went to Kuala Lumpur last summer, we stayed at the Ancasa hotel, in ChinaTown. Really enjoyed it, is a 3 star hotel, pretty decent location and cost about 40 pounds a night.

You can check out info about it if you do a google for it.

Highly recommended!

yeah another tip over here..TAKE ME WID YA..!! :D

Re: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

they're pretty strict out there so don't try any hanky panky. and take a trip to Singapore which is supposed to have some great Indo Chinese and Indian food plus a great botanical garden if my memory serves

Re: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I'll be in KL too in March. Will also be my first time too KL.
I have been told that it is a very nice city.

Buy the Lonely Planet book on Malaysia / KL and you will get all the info you want.

Re: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Thanks for the replies everyone. I done some research and found out that there are enough things to do. Prices are cheap compared to Australia.
I have already booked a hotel. This website has good rates and choices for hotels.

Re: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Conservative compared to what? I do not have the same impression. But Chinese and non-Chinese Malaysians have very different life styles.

Re: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

i think wats meant by strict here is for the muslims only. Cuz Malaysia is an Islamic state they are pretty strict abt islamic laws :) nothing to do with being chinese or non-chinese
if ur passport states ur religion as islam then dun let them find u co-habiting, eating in public in fasting mth, gambling etc.
otherwise... KL is a really KOOOOL city... loads to enjoy and cheap too!

Re: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Unless you are trying to provoke people on religious matters, no one bothers you. There are plenty of non-Islamic options available in KL as well. Nothing strict about that.
