I am looking to buy the kryolan foundation stick. Any recommendations for shades that will suit desi skin? I tried on FS38/36 but that made me look tanned. I am fair, not white, but light skinned. I use NC25 (and sometimes mix a bit of NC30) in MAC currently but need something that covers up more. Thank you.
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
How do you apply it?? Do you apply them separately?? I use FS 36 first and then have a coat of FS 38. Its marvelous. Its great. Its just about the application. I know, they are dull than my skin color but for enhancing features, sometimes darker shades go well.
I have shared here some work I did on one of my customers. She is an english girl and you know what skin color do they have... probably like Maida Skin.... (white flour), I applied her FS 36 and 38 both and I wanted to make her skin look darker than what she has.... just to enhance her features. The brighter lighter foundation would just expand her features!!
I am totally in love with Kryolan Foundation TV Sticks, they are probably the best I have come across, or maybe you say, I am kind of habitual of using them :)
I would love to try other foundations too but at the moment I think, I would stick to the same stick :)
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
I mix FS 36 with FS 45 to get my perfect shade! but I know what you mean, wearing 36 alone does give a tanned look
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
^this, yes, wearing it alone certainly gives a tanned look.
In fact main to lipsticks bhi ik do shades mila ke lagati hun… girls keep asking what shade/brand/number is that ![]()
It turns out to be in beautiful colors… unique colors! ![]()
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
I have only used the stick once and I thought it was nice.
Currently, I use Kryolan's HD cream foundation palettes and I love the finish they deliver.
But I think I'll definitely look into the paint sticks as well...but I don't remember seeing them in the Kryolan shop out here.
Maybe I missed them.

you are right reha. They are running short in the market. Its not they have completely vanished but a fake version is floating in the markets too.
A couple of years back, I was being trapped with the fake product instead of the real Kryolan paint stick. I couldn't realize at the time of buying it, I just discovered coming back to home and after the application!!!
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
How do you girls mix the foundation stick on the face? Damp sponge? Like beauty blender?
Btw queen great work.
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
Thanks dear ![]()
I use a Damp Sponge and specifically this one:

I cant use triangle ones ![]()
I make sure my sponge is wet. I then apply the stick on face, level it with the sponge, sprinkle water from spray bottle and let it dry naturally, when it is dried, I apply the other foundation. For heavy look, I keep repeating this procedure for a heavy and smooth look until my desired coat!!
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
Thanks! Do you then only apply the darker shade in certain areas to have a contoured look?

For darker areas, I use Primer & concealers and balance the tone. Then I apply the Chinese Foundation and then the sticks!
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
Yup like queen said, 4-5 strokes of the stick on the face and then damp sponge and patting in gently on to the face, it goes on much easier on the skin, and then I use a small foundation brush afterwards to smooth it out even more, as for contouring I use the bobbi brown stick in a very dark shade along the cheekbones, but FS 45 as a highlighter (under eyes/forehead between the eyes/bridge of the nose/chin)
What is Chinese foundation ?
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
Well chinese base is really yellowish in color or you say golden. It gathers the features and make your looks more attractive. I put it on especially when I am giving myself or my clients, a model look…
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
I contacted the shop and they said they carry paint sticks...will be taking a look this week! Is this Chinese foundation also a Kryolan product? The Supracolor is what you're calling the Chinese foundation, is that right?
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
I bought kryolan on a friends recommendation, really like it , but it dries my skin up.. has anyone tried using the usual drug store foundations on top of kryolan? like i bought bourjois healthy mix , thinking of using that as a top coat , to bring the shine back on the face ... what do you advice?
also , is it ok to use this Kryolan paint stick after moisturizing my face? like , use lotion or a cream instead of water , to even out the kryolan? or will that cause disaster?
I am afraid i still dont know how to properly apply this thing :(
Re: Kryolan Stick Foundation
I have seen videos of Kryolan and the results are amazing.....but Gaaaahhhh!!!!....the thickness, the chemicals, the "maskiness" of it"...no matter how natural it looks or even if you call it enhancing, it's still a masking....and to wear it daily. :/ Men are lucky, they can bare their faces to the world without all this. I have foundation, but I still think think there's something yucky about it.

LOL. CB I totally understand what you are talking about.
It's not about the Foundation itself, its about the skin type and atmosphere/weather around.
I myself has a combination skin. Most areas are Oily. When I was using Kryolan in Pakistan, never needed any moisturizer. When I came to UK, I used the Kryolan here and was kind of totally pissed off. My product wasn't working well. By time, I realized it was the weather that led my skin to get dry and the Kryolan was more like patches than well-merging on my skin.
So yes, in UK, before applying this stick, I make sure to moisturize my skin.
Now, because of my oily skin, nothing suited me as a moisturizer due to acne but only a Tea Tree lotion from Wilko. Its really cheap and really great for my skin type. I once used other Tea-tree products and I remember the results were good then too, they help you prevent from acne. So yes, its so far the best moisturizer I can use on my face without any fear of creating acne :)
Use a moisturizer for your skin type and then apply the stick :)
I love kryolan sticks. I use these as a concealer too. In F1 and Ivory. Sometimes I apply it thinly all over face and neck and on top of it I use liquid foundations. (I have tried mac studio fix foundation with it) and it gives a beautiful flawless coverage. But these are a lil drying, work better with a moisturiser or primer.
I absolutely love and suggest these sticks. And most importantly, it come out beautiful in photographs. Unlike most of other foundations it wont give you a ghost face in flash photos.
