A decade old Krishna temple constructed by Russian followers of Hindu Vedic religion was brought down two days back in Moscow by Russian authorities. Hundreds of Russian Krishnaites (ISCON) were chanting religious songs while bulldozers were busy in executing an order by the Mayor of the city, Moscow.
Earlier the Mayor had sanctioned the ISCON society a piece of land for construction of a huge Krishna temple but later the decree was cancelled in October this year and now the existing temple is also demolished.
(The news was telecasted on many Indian TV channels but so far could not find a web link in any newspaper)
its very sad to see something a group of people had built for their community destroyed, however from a historic point of view i was only ten year old as opposed to the Babri Masjid.
Not that I am defending destruction of Babri masjid but the Babri Mosque was not used by Muslims since 1936. It was not a masjid used by local muslims to worship.
I like this question…is smartly devided into three parts…
Name ONE prominet holy place.
Home to thousands of worshipers
Destroyed in recent times.
Do you want to say that there are many worship places destroed by your people not very prominent and not homes to thousands of worshipers and destroed in a little recent or remote past???
Visit India, go to Mathura, have a look at Krishna temple vs Arangzeb Mosque and tell me how the Mosque aquiring half of the temple was built. (You do not need any deep servey for that.)
In India there are plenty of Mosques built after destroying temples.
And for your information the Babri structure was a disputed site, thrown away by Muslims long back…(Islam does not allow offering Namaz at a dispted site.)
