An ex-Russian police officer says that “A message has been communicated to anyone who wants to speak out against the Kremlin - ‘if you do, no matter who you are, where you are, we will find you and we will silence you - in the most horrible way possible’.”
Merely days later he is killed, shot several times in his own home.
It looks like a message has been communicated to anyone who wants to speak out against the Kremlin - 'if you do, no matter who you are, where you are, we will find you and we will silence you - in the most horrible way possible.
It doesn’t matter if you live in the capital of the United Kingdom or the capital of the USA - Vlad “The Impaler” Putin is coming for you if you’re a Russian who dares to have the courage to speak up.
Litvinenko case itself looks like a conspiracy, British police came up with different arguements, on the very day they accused directly Putin and KGB involvement in poisoning, a few days later some different reports came in media when a few former KGB officers were interrogated.
It's pathetic CIA and MI5 hatch conspiracies against any country or government which opposes American hegemony and Unilateral actions.
Recently Vladimir Putin has given a strong statement in Germany against American wrongdoings in Iraq.
Also America knows that they are loosing their credibility in middle east mainly due to Labanon and Iraq failure.
Even traditional allies of US in this region are now reluctant towards US and looking more and more towards Russia.
In this scenario any propaganda by Americans against a government which opposes it's policies is just a coward attempt!
Re: Kremlin silences another critic - Russian shot dead in Washington
They consider only European and western citizens who disappeared after 9/11 under CIA as innocent. There are hundreds of innocent people from south asia and middle east whom CIA detains and nobody knows there whereabouts!

Add this one to the list MS…
Russian reporter dies in fall from window
Some media suspect foul play in military correspondent’s fatal plunge
MOSCOW - A military correspondent for Russia’s top business daily has died after falling out of a window, and some media alleged Monday that he might have been killed for his critical reporting.
Ivan Safronov, the military affairs writer for Kommersant, died Friday after falling from a fifth-story window in the stairwell of his apartment building in Moscow, officials said. His body was found by neighbors shortly after the fall.
With prosecutors investigating the death, Kommersant and some other media suggested foul play.
Re: Kremlin silences another critic - Russian shot dead in Washington
I don't see it that way. A 'cold peace' between Russia and the West would lead to more spy novels, thrillers, and terrific Clancy stories. Have you seen the quality of spy movies lately? ABYSMAL!
Jason Bourne saves Khodokovsky and Yukos! Dang it, I can't wait.
Re: Kremlin silences another critic - Russian shot dead in Washington
So far:
1) Reporter covering Russian war crimes is executed in her apartment building.
2) Ex-Russian spy who accuses the Kremlin of being behind the reporter's death and claims to be gathering proof of it is assassinated in London by extremely sophisticated means available only to government agencies.
3) Crowd in Moscow protests against Putin; gets tear-gassed and beaten up by police
4) Ex-Russian police officer who says the Kremlin killed the ex-spy is executed in Washington DC.
5) Reporter critical of Kremlin mysteriously exits his apartment window.

And now they are accusing KGB!
There is a difference between that and politcial opponents disappearing. Two entirely different issues

I think it's conspiracy, as you said correctly it's political.
However one should not ignore American political angle to this, while relying on news from American and British media!!

russians r a lot more trustworthy than our fat neighbour in the north-east.
I agree with Indian mango.
Russians believe in friendship while Americans have interests.
Interests vary with time while friendship withstands the test of time.
