This was Peshawar last night! Feel so proud. It’s like coming together of a community which has been through so much. Shame that media won’t cover such events.
Re: KPK under Taliban Khan
KPK Gov had decided to give monthly income of Rs.30,000 to 500 jobless but legendary local artists so they can start working on their arts again! The livelihood of these legendary artists were badly affected by the rise of extremism, militancy and governmental neglect. They had no source of income. So the idea behind this initiative is to take some of that economic strain off and encourage these artists to pursue their creative careers once again.
An indigenous cultural and arts revival in KPK is an excellent way of fighting extremism and militancy. It will give young Pashtuns a strong sense of identity and belonging. It will encourage a rise in literacy levels, and help the whole community of KPK come out of collective trauma with renewed level of self esteem and confidence.
