My question is if its ok to eat something that has kosher gelatin in it…for example dannon yogurt. So many people have different opinions, some say its ok to eat, while others say its not ok to eat. So what do you think is it ok to eat it or not? And if its ok to eat define why.

If the gelatin is from plant sources, it is fine. If its from animal sources, its likely not (unless you go by the latest fatwa from UK that says it may be ok). If not sure, call the toll-free number on the package to find out the source.

if its Kosher I would eat it, becuase it is my understanding that Kosher meat is halal for muslims (sorry can't give references, limited knowledge etc)
but alcahol is alchahol, it may be kosher but it aint halal!

Serendipiti, the kicker is that word 'kosher' represents a modern version of judaism, where some hanky panky is allowed. Atleast thats why I have been told.
The more conservative version of judaism is referred to as "ultraorthodox", and many food packaging you will see the sign (U). That is definitely free of pork and other haraam ingredients. But just saying "kosher", you probably are better off doing a little more research. Even strict followers of judaism don't buy everything that has 'kosher' written on it. Muslims should do their own due diligence as well.

Go to a kosher deli and you will probably find ham sandwiches being served there also.

When its a matter of life and death, even eating what would be haram under normal circumstances becomes halal. So I do not see a problem with blood of a “pork eater” if there is no alternative left.
Rational is one of the biggest traits of Islam. It is very accommodating and understanding of human problems and issues.

Where we live we have a very very orthodox Jewish community and the supermarket caters for them really well. Having said that we have very good halal food facilites so I have not ever needed to eat Kosher, I just like the principal of being able to eat Kosher food.

i dont analyse my food through gas chromotgraphy to find how many molecules of
forbidden substances present or think about how many insects and rat dropping
become part of wheat flour.

In Dannon yougurt Pectin is used which is obtained from plant source. It act as thickening agent and helps to thickened the yougurt.
