no

Re: Korean Shows.

Hey i've seen some awesome korean films lately.

City of violence stands out for me at the moment as that was epic! I particularly liked the way it was made with plenty of 80's retro style street fighting and some tremendous action seqeunces it was like Goodfellas meets kung fu hustle. Brilliant.

Crying fist was also another good film. As was Kwan Yul a period action movie set in the Samurai invasion of Korea in 1592 and featuring plenty of sword slashing and combat sequences as well as a particularly coulourfull cast you really have to see these films.

I don't know much about Korean movies but i love what i've seen so far!

Re: Korean Shows.

i haven't seen any korean shows lately, but some 12 yrs ago there used to be a korean drama on ktv that i was absolutely addicted to. i don't remember what the korean name was, but it translated to "more than words can say". omg... it was awesome! i wish i knew how it ended!! do u by any chance know which drama i am talking abt?

yeah i watch their film s and dramas.

it started with couple years back when i saw this one really good drama by coincidence, it was about this poor girl who worked in the factory and the factory owner<s rich son starts to fall for her and the troubles they face and stuff. ever since then i got hooked. they dramas are very emotional yet still neat and clean.

also some parts of their culture fit a lot with ours like respecting elders and staying somewhat reserved. at least in their dramas more so.

i m watching a really good kdrama now called autumn fairy tale. it almost made me cry so many times.

My mom is Corean, so I’ve watched a bunch of Kdramas and Kmovies.

Which movies and dramas have you watched so far?

I think Corea has the Best Film Industry in Asia right now, If not the entire world.

Re: Korean Shows.

How do you understand what is being said though? :konfused: Or do they have subtitles?

I used to watch Spanish tv shows when i was learning Spanish :hehe:

Re: Korean Shows.

Subtitles love em or hate em they were probably the best invention for foriegn films becuase dubbing Korean films ruins the dialogue Korean is a much more artistic language than english will ever be.

Example a Korean film hero may say something like:
"Don't worry about this gun, it is the bullet you should fear........now you will feel just a fraction of the pain i felt."

Which simply gets mashed into US dubbing as "Damn You!"

It ruins the moment so much becuase it is meant to be a more emotional scene not just a quick fire chop em up.

Good thing is subtitles help you learn another language whilst dubbing just ruins it becuase not only does it sound lame but it also does nothing to help you learn.

yeah, they are pretty good.

I forget the namez of some, but I remember My lovely Samsoon which was funny to watch & winter sonata which was really boring & slow. hmm coffee prince & chun hyang, it was a moive that played on sundance alot a few years ago.

subtitles man…btw acting is all about emotions, especially when you are using Opera…its all about drama. in order to understand one dont need to know italian.

well i watch em with subtitles. in fact sometimes i get addicted to korean soap operas
