koonday

ok..itz ragab now…has ne 1 hea eva heard of koonday? theyr like these big gatherings, doez ne1 have them at thier house hea? does ne1 know wut im tlakin bout?

Yes Koonday is Khatum which is done in the month of Rajab.....there is a specific date but can't remember it now........

I think that comes from Imam Jafar Sadiq- somebody correct me if Im wrong.. and have many spiritual reasons behind it just like any other specific Khatum Sharif.

Although it is more popular in Shias but we Sunnis equally do it as well.

You can serve any food but Halva Puri is specifically associated with it

:smokin: baby you can have them anytime in rajb..unless u specify a date in your Manat..basically..the misconception that surrounds Koondas is this: that ony Shias have them..well konndas are for prosperity..rajab is the month when you ask God for more barqat..so if you just keep it that simple its A-OK…:smokin: happy eating..
**If anyone wants to correct me..a go ahead me no hang ups..me illiterate..but please be nice to me im kinda cute:smokin:

koondey's have got nothing to do with Islam. Wake up people....

i totally agree with ZMAN..kondey has nothing to do with Islam!!

?

Rajab & Shabban are good months to do your religious duty especially fasting. These months are signs for the arrival of “Ramadhan” the month of bounty where every deed of yours will be double. Ramdhan is coming and that is the cause for celebration.

Try to do as much good as possible.

we will have koonday i am not sure what date mom is planning to have it

nobody will kill you, not me at least if you partake in such practices. But let me advise you that you are better off reading nawafal prayers, fasting, performing dhikr, giving sadaqah - all of which after and only after you have performed the fardh ibadah.

Eating halva, or saying a prayer over a plate of halva will not save you. If eating the halva gives you some sort of comfort, or if it is a fundemental requirement of your culture, then eat all you wish.

Remember, Ya Allah Madaad.

it's essentially a Shia practice right?? is it simply about following the 'earlier' companions or Ahl-e-Bait? I'd appreciate if the Shia's on the board shed more light on when actually koondays started and why?

What is koonday?

Can anyone shed light light on niaz nazar food. and how many of ya eat it??????

Without getting involved into fitna I would like to clear up some misconceptions. There is no evidence in Quran or ahadith about this stuff. Forget about Saudis, look at Quraan and Sunnah.

What or who is a wahabi ? (rhetorical)

I tell you the words of Allah(SWT) are beautiful if you read the Quraan with meaning. If you wanna look at the Quraan in Practise then look at the life of Mohammed(SAW).

You can be rest assured that innovations will be on ones neck on the day of resurrection because we are associating a lie with Allah(SWT) and His beloved Prophet(SAW) since Allah(SWT) never ordered this and Mohammed(SAW) never did this.

The scariest part about Bidaa is that one never asks Allah(SWT) for forgiveness by committing Bidaa

May Allah make our Imaan's strong and guide us to the path of Siraat-al-Mustaqeem - Ameen

WaSalaam

Bros....
This thread was opened by somebody to just learn something about this specific Khatum Sharif......

I don't think the aim was to start a debate on..... should bes and shouldn't bes.......

If anybody wants to discuss the authencity of Khatums then they
can by all means open a new thread.....
although we have discussed that topic hundreds of times here on gupshup

I agree with Romance. I think we should be more sensitive to people of other sects.

It's pointless to always debate on why I am better than you.

google we'd like the shias on the board to for a change explain what they do and why they do it rather than cry foul and still discuss nothing and hide everything they believe in.

So I ask again.. when did it start, who or what ruling are you guys following .. please educate us in this matter.

Regards

I am not Shia...
But I will try to answer this question....
I will check through my library over the weekend....
Hopefully I will be able to find answers to your questions...

And if any bro answers before me then its even better
