Re: Kon hai hamara real dushman? drones or terrorists?
I think we, ourselves are our biggest dushman. We undercut others when we see them progressing. We cheat people if we know we won’t get caught, and if caught we try to find a connection or loophole to avoid the consequences instead of doing the time for the crime. We elect the same people who time and again have consumed 95% while giving the amplified impression of grand investment with the 5%. We love to nitpick and strip others’ personal lives, while being worry-free about our own state of affairs and situations at our own homes, thus making us hypocrites.
Those of us who can’t leave the country, are in search of ways to either get rich quick off others who are less clever, and those of us who can leave the country do so and then become concerned non-residing citizens (myself included); although, the truth may be we took the easy way out whether by choice or because of circumstances.
However, within us there are a minority because of whom the country still stands, continues to churn, and remains a fact although everything else about it may seem like fiction poorly constructed and plotted with ill-intent, and it is that minority of hard-working, fellow humanity loving, God fearing, and patriotic Pakistanis that we are able to do all the despicable things. How I wish we could all give up one bad habit, and replace it with one good trait to benefit Pakistan during this holy month of Ramadan and duaa abundantly that Allah free us of our faults and prosper Pakistan through us.
Because if we can fix ourselves, and work to genuinely address the basic problems faced by each other in Pakistan and abroad, then no drone or terrorist will be able to inflict harm, instead we will be in a position where we will have reduced and/or eliminated terrorism and thereby nullified the justification (right or wrong) for violation of sovereignty of Pakistan through drones or other less known means of destruction.
And of course we need to start from ourselves first, and rid ourselves of the filth that we allow our neighbor to infiltrate in our society through their film industry, and we need to work to bring up alternatives which are deep rooted in Pakistani values.
well said and there is a lot of food for thought in this post. Self-introspection has never been our best friend and we like to blame others for our failures and love conspiracy theories.
