Have you ever herd of a game called “Daddi maa Daddi maa”
Which went somthing like
Daddi maa daddi maa Sher ja sakTe haaN
Then the daddi ma would reply
“Nai bacho”
there was another bit to it but i cant remember it all i remember at that point daadi ma would come after you and if u got slapped on the head you where out i think:hmmm:
ive no idea people used to play it differently all over pakistan
because i remember when me and my sisters first went their the girls in our pind taught us then the sher waley cousins came they told me about the version you’ve just mentioned:D
brother john was about waking up the monks in the monestary. humpty dumpty was about some war. ring around the rosies was about the bubonic plague and dying and stuff. londong bridge was about well the london bridge and how shoddy work was done on it and how so many people lived on it that it kept falling down.
the goras are just morbid i tell ya. no wonder kids grow up to be psychotic :o
it’s dadi amma dadi amma sair ko jainnnnnnnnn. and then she says no and then gives you a whole bunch of list of chores to do. kanjoos dadi kaam wali bhi nahin rakhti
the way we used to play it she said no three times then she would let you go then call you back lekin bache nai maante then she goes through a whole list of things to gift the kids if they come back last one being a gold Quran and then at that point kids come running back
after she asks the kids what they did, and what they brought for her in reply the kids say they ate laddoos etc. and they brought daddi ama gooN which then the daddi ama start running around trying to slap the kids:snooty:
i’m sure they played that stuff. i was in lahore so i learned it from the girls at school.
ohh someone told me about akkar bakkar’s history can’t remember now. and the first post i think my khala knows:D she knows all the punjabi rhymes and games :rotato:
