aah... u can try the procedure I posted in my thread and at the end of the spyware sticky thread...
can you also check your add/remove programs list to see if you have program entries like Home Search Assistent (yes with the wrong spelling), Shopping Wizard and Search Extender... if you do have'em, then you gotta follow that procedure, but I'd advise you do so before you install any new genuine programs on your computer.
a hijackthis log would be a good starting point too...
oye gizzy, those old links work fine for moi, but PM me what you want changed/updated in that thread.
^^Yeah they seem to be working a little too well!!
UT's post was very informative but I still wasn't able to resolve a PC which was infected as such. Upon careful analysis of about 15 PC's in my corp. environment I came to the conclusion that the best way to keep PC's protected is to not give any install rights to users (I think we are digressing back to the "computer termainal" days). One of my users is a little "shararti" so I took away all her priviledges to do any install or config changes. Her PC was clean as a whistle at checkup time.
Anywho, for home users just create a regular user account WITH NO PERMISSIONS TO DO S****, for everyday use. Create a duplicate admin account for when you have to install software or hardware. So, if all else fails u can use the administrator account and get control back.
LOL
or you can incorporate Deep Freeze on your LAN. All workstation configurations will be restored to their original version as soon as the workstation is rebooted. This will take care of any shararti users and budhoo users. Its a cos-effective solution, ive seen deployed and worked extremely well. It enhances the productivity of the IT dept.
heheh, waise i haven’t seen a female spyware expert… it would be nice to see your mini documentation on removing spyware… Kheir, if i ever have a spyware problem i will ask for a banda and bandi…
