Koby Free. Charges: Dismissed

Lakers have their man, no trial, no jail time. Hopefully Kobe uses his head (brain) next time and is loyal to his wife.

I m so happy for him... but they still gonna have Civil trial...

damn i was just about to post this :D
now mitch kupchak can sleep peacefully without having to worry about giving kobe a maximum contract for nothing.

Kobe was supposed to be off from Day ONE because in the pre-trial hearing the Judge was suprised that the prosecustion even wanted to take the case to court.

  1. There were some 'mistakes' or 'leaks' which only helped his case even more

  2. He's Kobe. There has been a history of the NBA getting these lil kids out of High School and making them 'untouchable' because they've got enough money to get out of pretty much anything, whether it's rape (Kobe), spousal abouse, Drunk Driving (Kwame Brown) and not to mention all the weed smokers like Zach Randolf and Lamar Odom (now a Laker).

Obviously Jerry Buss new this before plopping down 120Million and when asked - what if Kobe goes to Jail? He replied he was very confident about the case.

Now with all that behind him, Kobe has the biggest challenge of his life - to be faithful to his beautiful wife (old habits die hard) and on a professional level he has to go from an inconsistently great player to legendary.

He will have to try to emerge from Shaq's shadow and win a championship. He can do it because his arch nemesis, the undisputable greatest MJ did it without a true center for many years. MJ was 28 before he won his first championship. Kobe is 25 and already has 3.
One can only hope that the Lakers can make a trade for a manageble veteran that can assist Kobe because if you really think about it we got nothing for Shaq - not even one All-Star. How you trade away the most dominant center in the league and not even get one all star?

Sounds good to me. Now, Kobe start working your butt off in the training camp. You and Odom are the new dynamic duo of the NBA!

You made it sound like Kobe committed the rape crime? He committed adulterly, that matter is no one's businness but between him and his wife. Had the case gone to the trial, and Kobe found convicted, the Laker management would have terminated the contract, meaning $136.5 weren't at stake from the beginning.

On professional level, he is inconsistence on making other team-mates better. Something Shaq is good at. Thanks to Suckchap, Shaq has reportedly shed 25 lbs when he appeared at VMAs last weekend down in Miami. He was a dominant force as overweight. Just imagine what he's gonna do in his best shape at 330 lbs.

There has been a talk of Malone getting back for another reason. At least, that's what Rudy T. said it. If he returns, Lakes will have a interior defence and a solid front line. Last time I checked, Karl was spending summer at his ranch at Arkansas. No word on him yet.

yeah. Lakers are gonna have good bench this season. Something they obviosuly lacked the last time.
