He should have won in 2006 but as writers in America has a mantra of "Who has made his team" better during the season, it was overdue.
It was a bit surprised though, how much gap there was between Kobe and Chris among first place votes.. Kobe won it in a landslide... 82-28...in first place votes.

I think there was guilt at play here because ppl may have realized they had robbed him earlier. My view, well deserved and deserved for years. Ther eis some anti kobe fee, i think it was a backlash to the initial hype, and I also think that during shaq and kobe wars ppl did nto want to appear to be taking sides.

CP3 did a lot more than Nash did when Nash won the MVP over Kobe.
So either Kobe should have won it then or CP3 wins it now. And the whole "have to make your team a contender" thing is bull****. Kareem won it when the LAkers had a losing record and didn;t evenm make the finals.

^Yeah, well his numbers are down from a couple of years ago, and his assists aren't up that dramatically (amittedly the triangle offence isn't prone to one player getting huge assists) *and *his nearest competitor had one of the best seasons ever for a point guard, completely revitalising a city and filling what was once an almost empty arena.
Having said that, KB24 deserved the MVP at least once over the past few seasons and I have no problem with him getting it now. But the fact that he got it in a landslide does show there was some guilt factor.
