Re: Knowing gender of first baby

It's upto you! I wanted to prepare and shop before hand and my mother and grandmothers wanted to do some knitting so I just HAD to find the gender otherwise it was too hard to shop. It's going to be a surprise no matter when you find out, now or at birth..
but the fun part was that we had already named our baby before he was born and he was referred to by that name throughout my pregnancy

Re: Knowing gender of first baby

We didn’t find out for our first kid and the suspense was crazy lol And it was really hard shopping although most people guessed correctly that it was a boy so I did end up with quite a few boy things. For our next one iA, we’re definitely finding out! I need to be able to plan if its a girl! I’d say go for it if you want to. I don’t think it’ll ruin the surprise at all. You can always find out and not share with friends and family- just you and hubby would know. Or, ooh, you could have a gender reveal party to let everyone know which would be so cute and definitely a great/memorable way to break the news! http://www.chiccheapnursery.com/2011/baby-shower/gender-reveal-party-for-baby-swartout-featured-party/

Re: Knowing gender of first baby

I wanted to know the gender the day I got a positive test. Husband wasn't on board in the beginning but 10 weeks later suspense was killing him too. We found out, called our parents, family, friends right away. In my family back home, no one shares the gender ipeven if try know it and I always hated it so I wasn't going to be one of them...even though initially my mom was against the idea of telling everyone for the very same reason that no one tells us then why should we but I didn't hide it.

Everyone at work had guessed the gender and were supposed to wear blue or pink on the day of my ultrasound...almost everyone wore blue and boy it was. :D

And it's a surprise no matter when you find out, at 20 weeks or at the time of delivery...I can't wait to see what my baby looks like... I won't be able to carry two suspenses!!!

If I had a bigger family here, I would have so gone for the gender reveal party. Love that idea!!!

Re: Knowing gender of first baby

aww isn’t it just an amazing feeling seeing the baby and hearing the babys heart beat at an ultrasound.. oh the joys of pregnancy :@:

i found out both my kids genders.. even if i want a surprise the curiousity gets to me and i can’t but find out :cb:
yes we told family members, but news travels fast so EVERYONE i know knew by the time i was 5months..

my sister in law was told it was a girl through out her ENTIRE pregnancy.. and when the baby was born it was a BOY! she was so upset because she was mentally ready for a girl and did ALOT of baby girl shopping AND since she already had a boy she was really looking forward to thegirl.. :hayaa:

Re: Knowing gender of first baby

I didn't find out and I liked not knowing. Inshallah plan on not finding out for any future babies. Do what you want, I'm sure people who did find out were just as surprised during the ultrasound. Good Luck.

@ Gemini the Great](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/member.php?u=6672) I love that your workmates wore blue or pink clothes to predict the gender of your baby, such a lovely idea!

Re: Knowing gender of first baby

We knew and we did tell people. I was pleasantly surprised and I don't think it was any less exciting when she was born.
