How can u see if a dress is a knockoff or not? I got a engagedment dress from my inlaws and they say its a manish malhotra but knowing my inlaws I really dont believe them

To answer your question, look for the label. Also, look up Manish's recent fashion shows and see if you see anything similar, usually a knockoff will always look somewhat different from the original. Or post up a picture of it on here and let the GS sleuths do the work for you ;)!

I have no idea how they order it, I have only seen pictures of the dress and my inlaws lives in karachi and UK. But knowing them, they are as my dad call them kanjoos! we are having the engagement in DK and its my parents who are paying for everything! which isnt normal in my family anyway everytime my mom ask his mom about anything she says its the girl family who does that or buy that etc etc. and there is also other stuff that makes me to think that they arent beeing honest about this atleast

ohh they arent bad people otherwise only when it comes to useing money I have the feeling of that maybe they dont have a lot of money its not like my parents can ask them how much they got or not beside I will not be dependent on him or his parents after we get married. Its just bug me a bit that we are paying for everything and they are only paying for the walima

No offence, but your attitude towards them isn't very nice.. i mean they might have gotten you a manish malhotra's dress, who knows? why are you marrying into this family when you obviously don't even like them?

Why does it matter so much to you if they got a real one or knockoff. I mean, obviously they shouldnt be trying to deceive anyone. But aside from that, on your part at least, is it really such a big deal as long as you like the dress? Would you like it even more just because it came with a bigger price tag and had a fancy label sewn into it? They are giving it to you as a gift from them, either accept it with a smile and gracious heart or be honest with them about you feel about it, if you would rather wear something else. But speculating that it might be fake because you think they are "kanjoos", thats not the way you want to start this beautiful new part of your life
You are getting married. Give thanks for your blessings and focus on all the wonderful things in your life. If you want to start picking everything apart from now when you havent even gotten engaged yet, then really, you are in for one difficult ride

haha its ok huny, i know family who are exactly like that, they will say anything to make u believe it....if u think its a knockoff then just show us a picture (like someone already suggested) and we can tell u.....or check for a label etc...
and dont listen to some of the bull crap about how ur going to adjust with them or your attitude with them is wrong..if their "fitrat" is like that then its not ur fault.....the people i know are not bad, they are really nice but somtimes they say things that are impossible to believe and it makes u think are they lying to impress or is it true...go with ur gutts :D
